Santa Fe 2023

Great crossover. I wish it had a gear shift, that alert sensitivity was adjustable, and that acceleration was more responsive from a full stop. Otherwise, I love my Santa Fe and am very pleased with my second Hyundai vehicle.

Trailer Wiring Harness and Carplay

Right after I purchased the vehicle, a recall came out for the wiring harness and I was told that I couldn’t put the car in the garage, etc., because of a fire hazard. Also, that being said I couldn’t even briefly leave kids or pets or valuable items in there. After about a year, I got the recall taken care of and the wiring harness worked for six months and now no longer works, and they can’t get a repair for it because of a worldwide shortage. If you can’t get it right, don’t offer it. It’s not that hard. The interface with CarPlay is beyond dangerous. For whatever reason the car will interpret that it is in the middle of the woods 2 miles off the highway while you were driving right down the middle of the highway.. it starts giving recalculating over and over and over again. This is especially dangerous in cities where there are numerous inter interchanges and traffic. As soon as you disconnect your phone from the vehicle, the phone is 100% accurate on where it is as soon as you plug it back into the Hyundai. It goes awry again. Sometimes it works fine and other times it does not and some of those times can be very dangerous. I’ve bought a new Hyundai about every 2 1/2 years for the last 10 years. This may be my last one.

Excellent Vehicle

We have taken it on a few long trips and it has been very comfortable. The gas milage on the last trip (2000 Miles) was 33.5. Not bad for 75 MPH. During our trip son location, mileage was up to 43 MPG.

Problematic Vehicle

Transmission went out at 35,000. Dealership had my vehicle for months. 40,000 transmission oil pump went out. Out of a car another couple of months. On the way home from picking my car up at the dealership, my Panasonic sunroof literally explodes!! My car has now been in the shop from the first week of January to August! It has not been a good experience.

A Great Road Trip Vehicle

A comfortable ride especially on road trip. We recently did a road trip from the Fort Myers Florida area to Utah to visit national parks. We spent 21 days and it was a joy every mile during the trip.

Good when good and worse when bad

Car had a short causing engine and hybrid battery to disengage from transmission. Dealerships couldn’t find it to fix it. Dangerous to drive. Hyundai ultimately bought it back but it was a long and stressful process. Hybrid technology must change to win my confidence back.
