2024 Hyundai Sonata

The radio software is poor at best. When I start the car, I want the radio to go back to where it was when I last turned it off. It won’t do that and many other issues. Even with 3 choices for transmission response, the transmission has an issue with what gear it wants to be in upon initial driving after start-up. My previous sonata (2019) had the turbo 4 cylinder which was a much better engine and Hyundai stopped providing it in the Sonata. Hyundai also stopped providing the home link on the mirror. Big disappointment.

Sleek, sports performance with plenty of space

Vehicle has a lot of acceleration and looks the part. Plenty of space for all passengers including the trunk. Infotainment screen has plenty of options and functionality for smooth driving. Gas milage is at the high end of advertised capability. Highway drive assist has smooth acceleration and deceleration and keeps you safely in lane.

Great vehicle...if only the speedometer would work reliably

I love this car EXCEPT for 1 major problem that they will neither acknowledge nor fix. Every other time I start the car, the speedometer will read 4-5 mph over my actual speed (when I'm driving at highway speeds.) I have verified this with other cars driving in tandem with me and with different GPS apps, and the dealer has been able to reproduce it as well. Hyundai will not acknowledge this MAJOR problem and says it's "normal variability." Ridiculous.

Mostly great. Just a few issues

Already getting some transmission slippage when engaging into drive or reverse. When in cruise control the closest follow setting is like 6 car lengths away which is way too far. There is also no way of turning that function off.

Flashy but rushed to production

It’s nice. The styling is absolutely stunning. But the tech is to its detriment. Sensors are wild. CarPlay is finicky. The suede seats are so uncomfortably hot in temps over 65°. The dual wet clutch shifts like absolute garbage. Backing up is the biggest hassle because the sensors are far too sensitive and can’t be deactivated in a busy parking situation. Just yesterday I was pulling onto a street and my Sonata slammed on its brakes and flashed a warning that it was emergency braking to avoid a collision to which there was no vehicle there; it just stopped my car in the middle of a turn onto my street. IT could have CAUSED an accident. And what’s worse is each time I turn the sensors off, when I turn the Sonata back on after a drive, the sensors reset and turn back on. I have had 6 vehicles (4 new off the lot) and I would rank this as my least favorite. I will not be getting another one.

My second Sonata is better than my first one

It was smoother and faster and more comfortable, and if it is as safe as my first Sonata, then a Chevy Suburban can hit you are 50 MPH on the freeway and you can drive away with no problems. I love my Sonata

Good techknology. Bad quality. Blind spot and horn did not work.

First day after picking up my lease the blind spot detection stopped working. Did not work for 6 months until I had service fix it. The front bumper also had a couple pieces that came unglued the first day I drove it. Now just found out my horn does not work. Talking with service to get a new one.
