Ownership Review

I have been blessed with my ‘12 Civic Si coupe since February 2013. I’ve enjoyed the thirteen years of owning a practical, reliable car, coupled with great service from both dealerships and independent shops. Even as I look for a newer vehicle, hopefully a Type R/Type S, I’m still looking for a way to retain this car. This gen holds a special place in my heart and memories. Thank you Honda, for this experience 😊

Never a problem

I have had my Honda Civic hybrid for Around 12 years and have never had a problem with it. I have always kept up on the maintenance for the car When I asked the auto repair at the Honda dealership if it is time for a new car I have 80,000 miles they said no the car should last for another 150,000 miles with excellent maintenance I assume I will need to replace the hybrid battery in a few years

car's a "survivor"

bought new in 2012. basic service always done with complete service history available. car has been "dead nuts" reliable. replaced a battery (under warranty) purge valve, and starter in 14 years. very economical to run,,with excellent gas mileage. (highly recommended for daily driver. car is 14 years old, and runs better than new.one can barely hear engine running. 230,000 + miles on it right now (2025)

Even though I was looking for an Acura type S, I’ve been blessed with my Civic Si coupe. Love the reliability and resiliency of this vehicle. If Honda and Acura can continue/improve on this level of workmanship, I’ll be a lifelong customer.RT

Great car but Honda service lacking

This is my third new Honda.I have always been a fan of Honda until this year.I have always had paint issues with my Hondas.Apparently there was a recall on my 2012 Civic that I did not receive.My niece saw how my paint was peeling and said she saw a recall notice o. Honda paint.When I contacted Honda ,I was a year over the recall time.Honda would not budge on taking care of the paint issue.They have lost a long time customer!

I love this car

Bought it used - someone's 3-year lease was up. It has been reliable and doesn't require a lot of gas. It is low to the ground compared to many vehicles on the road, but I have liked the sight lines and feel comfortable in it.

Great Natural gas powered vehicles

Our Honda Civic GX so a great car. Running on compressed natural gas (CNG), it gets 41 mpg. With an 8 gallon tank then it goes 320 miles between fill-ups. It is the most environmentally friendly vehicle around, emitting only water vapors. The only problem is finding CNG outlets near by. We have a pump at home from Georgia Natural Gas and it is extremely convenient.

Reliable, low maintenance, runs smooth

Best car I ever owned. I might buy another if something happens to this one. I’ve put 100k highway miles on it and only done limited maintenance (tires and transmission fluid). It runs as smooth as the day I bought it. I’ve made it up to 36MPG over thousands of miles driving. What a well made car. And the pickup is excellent for a little sedan!

Honda Civic SI

Since Covid-19 I had to get the oil filter from the dealership as locals are not carrying them in stock. Love my SI, having a great time! It’s a beauty! My SI is fully loaded with lots of extras. Being so low to the ground you as I lowered it, have to be careful over bumps and things.

My Honda

I am a believer for sure. I bought this used car at the approach of being 3 years old. It has been a loyal and reliable automobile. Hybrid heavenly!

Bought this car used 8 years ago. As a hybrid it has performed as advertised taking me from outside Philly to the lake in New Hampshire on ONE tank of gas. 8 years and 148,000 miles later it owes me nothing!

Amazing affordable Great first car for teens

Great daily it’s easy to work on, i’ve done every piece of maintenance myself on this vehicle with some basic tools and even the Internet you can get things done on this vehicle (Low pressure fuel filter is a pain though) if possible just pay like the 80 bucks at Honda if you’re brave and have patience good luck, rear drum brakes also if you’re a beginner and don’t have the tools

Love my Civic.

Have been completely happy with my Civic purchased in 2012. My second Civic. Nothing to dislike. Needs so little maintenance. A joy to drive. Comfortable. They are making me type more to submit. Good gas mileage.

Overall, truly a great car.

It’s well engineered, reliable, and trouble free. Besides enough room needed in a sedan, even the rear seat head room is okay. The visibility out the right aft and left aft are somewhat difficult though the rear and side mirrors help.

The little engine that could

2012, September I believe, bought a used 2012 Honda Civic with 12,000 miles on it. I just broke 140,000 miles in early August some 8 years later. My last inspection was $89 and I can still go 411 to New Hampshire on one tank of gasoline.

Brilliant vehicle

My Honda Civic, call her " Bluebell"

Bought my Honda Civic in May 2012. 5 Days after purchase it was totaled as I was hit by 2 cars seconds apart less than a mile from my home. When healed from my injuries, and lawyer obtained my money, went back to dealer and got another one just like it. Have been driving it for 8 years. Very pleased with it. Honda makes an excellent car.

honda vehicle

have had a honda for at least 35 years and most of those years had two. have had hondas thruout family that have lasted over two hundred and an accord that had well over 450,000. never changed timing belt in either! matter of fact never had a timing belt replaced in any car!
