Step up

Definitely a step up from my 2016 one. Tunes: Bluetooth and Android Auto both connect quickly. Screen has a safety feature that you can only scroll so much before it takes a "safety pause" before allowing you to again. Calendar, maps, phone, audiobooks, music, messages, are all available from main screen. Inside: Heated seats are great especially in the winter. The mirrors don't ice over. Seats are comfortable and easy to clean. Engine: It doesn't accelerate quickly so this isn't a sport car but I don't use it as one. Even in sport mode it only gives a little boost. There is also smart mode which seems to create more issues than not messing with the cruise control and other basic parts. I mainly have it in normal mode. I love the lane assist to help stay in the lane. Oil full synthetic. I took it in at 5000 miles and the oil was still light and 3/4 full. Was advised by mechanic that the percentage for oil change is more of a "reminder" than actually needing and that 6500 is the likely number for changing it.

Why is the wrapping and paint so bad?

The vehicle is overall ok. I like the light features and different driving options. The paint chips easily and the wrapping lining the windows is already coming off. I have only had the vehicle for 4 months. The screen overheats easily. I worry what will become of it in the summer.

Sound system.

So far I love my car the only thing I think that could use some fixing is the sound system. It doesn’t get very loud but when you do turn the music all the way up it goes in and out low and high so it doesn’t sound very good at all. I’m paying 29k for my car I should be able to listen to my music on 45 without a problem.

Pretty good, gotta get rid of that bar

I’ve been loving my Elantra, it’s attractive, great value, and fantastic trunk space/gas mileage, The only thing I hate is the stupid bar in between the two front seats, it feels like a jail cell
