Great little car

I bought the Elantra because I needed a second car around town and trips to Little Rock, about 60 miles round trip and I wanted good mileage without the hybrid expense and I don't care for electric vehicles. My Elantra sel sport has exceeded my expectation in every way possible. Mileage is exceptional, far beyond what the window sticker stated, Performance is very acceptable as is handling. The car looks great and and is actually quite roomy. I spent 52 years in the retail auto industry and I can say that it has been a very pleasant surprise in every way.

Impressive

My first new car in many years. For an inexpensive second car it has the latest safety features u find on much more expensive cars. It's quiet and peppy and the gas mileage is unbelievable

Heated mirrors

Every car made by Hyundai should have heated side mirrors. This is a big safety feature! I have sold Hyundai for over twenty years and purchased several and like them. I don’t think low profile tires are good for areas that have snow. If you like big aluminum wheels make that in a sport model.

quality

vehicle has some small dents from shipping to the dealer i am going to bring it back in a few days to get repaired.also the transmission does not seem to shift correct in heave traffic stop and go does a lot if jerking and jumping i have already carried it back for this issue the service manager says this is normal on this model.i don't buy his story. i now wish i would have bought a honda very low quality car with several issues i will be back at the local dealer to address this by weeks end. but the are going to say nothing wrong like they did before

This is going to be difficult

The Elantra I purchased is decent as cars go, but was a little disappointed in the number of settings available. One thing that is annoying is the display brightness changes when driving through an underpass. It would be nice to have an option for a single display brightness. I can understand the brightness setting for cell phones because it can save battery life, but not for a car. This car was a little low on features for the price. Having so many different feature sets for each trim package adds cost to the consumer. Having a generic common feature set across a few trim packages would mean lower tooling costs, which will save the customer money. I think its sad that the customer comes last. Some of the software driven features don't seem consistent. I haven't driven it through a winter yet, so I don't know if the fuel efficiency will decrease like the Elantra Limited hybrid I had previously.
