I really like this car

This is a smooth luxurious vehicle. Essentially it is an electric minivan with conventional doors. The ride is incredible and loaded with features. Loaded with everything and has a really high price to go with that.

My car died after 2 months and 1300 miles

I was in Boone, on 3/11/26, away from home when my Ioniq 9 with 1305 miles on it died. I was told it would be towed to Bristol, Tenn. which is an hour west of Boone; I had to insist that it be towed closer to Greensboro where I live. It was towed to Hickory, NC where it is still being worked on. I asked for a loaner car, because my new car left me stranded in Boone, away from home. I was told that Paramount Hyundai wasn't sure they could accommodate me. After many phone calls to Hyundai Emergency service and customer service and more calls to Paramount, I was granted a loaner. I was told the inverter needed to be replaced which was done last week, but when they drove the car it was making a loud noise so on further inspection it was determined that the motor drive was bad. I do not know how long it takes for a motor drive to damage an inverter, but it does worry me that the new inverter installed might have some damage due to the bad motor drive. It has now been over a week and a half, and I do not have my car back, and I will have to drive an hour and half to Hickory to get it. All in all this has been very disappointing and time consuming.

Excellent drive and design. App is bummer.

This is very strong product that replaced my Rivian. It drives quieter, has more than enough power and charges better. Family and passengers prefer this vehicle by far. More compliments and attention with this than my Rivian R1T. Appreciate a richer repair network. The iOS app is subpar, works but is bloated and inconsistent. Updates for USA re: the user interface are lacking. Why are we still pressing multiple buttons for highway assist?

Power, room, and comfort

For my 1st EV, I like it a lot. Power is great. Plenty of room in the 1st and 2nd rows. I normally keep the 3rd row down and use it for storage. I have no complaints about the comfort.

Repeated issues with less than 400 miles

I purchased this vehicle brand new and drove it for less than a week before having to take it to the dealership due to an electrical issue. I was told by my service person that the controlled motor unit was bad and needed to be replaced. A week and a half later I picked up my vehicle around 5:47 at night when I got home I noticed A weird smell coming from the trunk area of the vehicle also the front trunk. Opening mechanism was having problems so I decided to take it to the dealership in the morning upon driving. I was prompted with a loud warning in the dash stating to stop the vehicle and check power supply. since I was already going to the dealership I was just going to drive it there until I realize that my speed was reduced to. 24 miles an hour so I immediately turned back home and had it towed. It made it to the shop at 9Am in the morning afterwards I was told by my service person that the ICCCU was bad it needed to be replaced and that part was on back order another week and a half has passed. The vehicle was supposed to be ready then I call to verify a time to pick up and more bad news the ICCU that was installed went bad on top of that a wire was burnt out. And I also needed a new 12 V battery. Everything is on backorder. I highly recommend researching the brand in the common problem with the ICCU that they have.

Less than 2000 miles in: TURTLE MODE!

Car reports, literally, nothing wrong yet here I am with basically a useless vehicle. Super disappointed that I have to deal with this issue at a dealership I don’t like.

best looking & technically designed auto with poor finishing details

We bought our car at the end of September and discovered that it had been damaged either at the factory and/or during transport to Kirkland, WA. So, our use of the car is very limited as it had about only 71 miles when we finally took it home, January 15th. With 221 miles now on the car, we are beginning to appreciate all the benefits of the car. Most frustrating, however, is the lack of a well-organized, easy to understand owner's manual. We find the manual in the car limited. And the PDF version easy to read but very disorganized. For example, when searching for information about driver assist for example, the table of contents indicates page 409, but when I look for that page I only see page 408. Page 409 is missing! I checked with ChatGPT and it described the PDF version of the owner's manual as combination of traditional organization and concept organization. This is frustrating. When I look for videos for explanations about the same, I'm directed to you and watch someone, who is not a representative of Hyundai, explaining driver assist but missing lots of detail. Later, we attempted to practice the secret/spare key approach to opening the car. In the video the person easily slide the key box (whatever it's called) catch easily, didn't really show which way (right or left, inside or out) to push the lever. We busted thumbnails attempting to do the same, before deciding to postpone until we visit the service department some time in the future. So in summary, while we enjoy driving the car, practicing the use of various facets of this technically awesome car is not easy to accomplish. We think Hyundai can do a lot better in providing better education for new owners.

Great Car Except I Can't Level 1 or Level 2 Charge at Home

After exhaustive troubleshooting, it appears that the Ioniq 9 has issues with Level 1 or Level 2 home charging. Public chargers appear to work OK All of the other variables have been eliminated, the car itself is the issue. I've checked this by trying to charge other EVs and they all work except for the Ioniq 9 Example (not me): https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq9/comments/1mzdfyl/outdoor_outlet_charging_l1_trips_gfci_outlet_for/ I was recently the victim of another vehicle through a different car manufacturer with a similar Issue. I was able to get a full buyback after going through Lemon Law. So I'm well-equipped to advocate for myself if this vehicle does not function as it's advertised. Works well except I had a passenger airbag fail shortly bag fail.

Good car, but suffers from first year model issues with quality. Failed passenger airbag after bag after only a couple weeks.
