Tori, we are sorry you feel this way. Please understand that we operate a business diagnosing vehicles that may or may not operate at optimum performance. The technicians need to understand the complexities of each vehicle as well as the customers complaint or understanding of the what they describe as the problem. This takes time, tools and comprehension of vehicle systems and opertions. In this repair, we were at the 3rd component for testing; inputs. It just happend that the key/fob provided failed to be read by the vehicles computer (typically means that a new key was programmed to the vehcile) In this situation there were two issues: 1) only one of two keys for the vehicle provided 2) both key fob batteries were dead) Once we received the 2nd key (not OE) replaced the battery, checked the signal and frequency were good, tried this on the vehicle. Luckily this fob and key worked. Re-tried the OE, just in case the other key could now be seen after the security alert had been reset. In this case utilizing the scan data to read and test faults is where the "time" was utilized. We all wish these vehicles were easier to work on but, at the end of the day they are rolling computers.
