This time we were there with a vehicle from a friend that was diagnosed elsewhere as needing a head gasket & possible head replacement.
Jim & crew thoroughly chased the symptoms discovering a wrong electronic part had been installed at some point that appeared to be throwing off engine function. They installed the correct part, tested again & the vehicle is running fine.
Jim didn't bag on the other tech/shop, he offered it was a tough diagnostic & a less experienced tech could easily have missed it. He also offered that they could be wrong & given more miles the issue could be more than what his team is seeing.
Between home & our construction company we run12 vehicles; we do a lot of wrenching ourselves, from engine & suspension rebuilds to regular maintenance. However, we're more parts replacers/builders, not so much mechanics. As such, I appreciate Jim's humility.
