I’m overdue for leaving this review because I was out of the country on a work trip recently.
I brought my Chevy Equinox to this shop for repairs, and unfortunately, I ended up having to take it to another auto shop to have the work inspected and my car properly put back together.
My car left your shop on August 18th and I was told my vehicle had been test-driven for 20–30 minutes. However, as soon as I got back into my car after leaving your shop, I could immediately tell that something wasn’t right. Unfortunately, I had to get back to work for a meeting, which is why I texted the shop shortly afterward to let you know that my car did not sound right. I was then advised that additional repairs/replacements might be needed. At that point, I decided to take my vehicle to another shop for a second opinion before spending even more money. I’m very glad I did.
The second shop was able to identify an issue almost immediately when my vehicle was brought for inspection.
When the other shop inspected my vehicle, they found that the brake caliper on my right wheel was loose, along with several other nuts and bolts in the right-wheel area. They also found that the right-wheel brake dust shield was loose, which caused significant scraping and damage to my right tire rim.
The second shop also told me that, based on their inspection, they did not believe the front two wheel bearings had been replaced based on their testing, but I somehow have new brake pads? I spent $1,100 in cash for the front wheel bearings to be replaced with your shop, in addition to paying to have my vehicle towed back to the shop because my car was not put back together correctly.
At this point, it honestly feels like I paid $1,100 just to have my car come back with more problems than it had before. Instead of paying for a repair and driving away with confidence that the work was done correctly, I ended up having to address additional problems at a second shop.
My biggest takeaways from this experience is to use a credit card for major auto repairs so there is a record with some additional protection, to not take my car to Bay City Automotive, or recommend Bay City Automotive.
Kris, you have great customer service skills, and I appreciate your communication. However, my experience was that the mechanical work clearly does not meet the standard I expected, and I would encourage anyone considering this shop to take their business elsewhere.
