This is the second time I’ve had one of my vehicles serviced at Bowie Auto Clinic, and I honestly shouldn’t have ever stopped coming here.
I’ve always been someone who follows the dealership’s recommendations and has my vehicles serviced there. After this experience, I think that’s about to change—even when I buy my next new car. I’ll miss the loaner vehicles, but I’d much rather work with a shop that’s honest, trustworthy, and doesn’t mark up parts or recommend unnecessary repairs.
I originally came in because the dealership told me my radiator had a crack and needed to be replaced, even though my car wasn’t overheating or showing any obvious signs of a problem. Sean assisted me from the very beginning and was transparent throughout the entire process. After inspecting the vehicle, he told me they couldn’t actually find a crack or an active leak. Instead of replacing parts right away, he topped off the coolant, charged me nothing, and asked me to drive the vehicle for a week and come back.
When I returned, the coolant reservoir was empty, confirming there was indeed an issue that needed to be repaired. Sean ordered the part and expected to have it repaired the next day—but he actually called later that same day to let me know the work was already complete.
The repair ended up costing about $1,000 less than the dealership’s quote.
Sean was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to explain everything in detail. I even discussed the diagnosis and repair with my dad, who lives in another state and has a lot of experience with cars. After hearing how Bowie Auto Clinic handled everything, he told me I should stop going to the dealership and have my vehicles serviced here because they’re honest and clearly know what they’re doing.
