Terrible experience, do not bring your car here
They held my car for 3 days, saying that they would do a diagnostic each day and get back to me and never did. Finally they provided me a quote that was an insane amount for what the issue was. When I asked for an itemized receipt they dropped the price by $300 to be “helpful”. Then when I showed up in person and said I was taking my car elsewhere, they said they wouldn’t let my car off the lot without paying a $250 diagnostic fee. Before they did any diagnostic work, they never told me the cost of the diagnostic and if I knew it was this much I never would have brought it here. Also, under NJ 13:45A-26C.2 it is against the law for a car repair shop to charge a customer for work on a car without agreement by the customer in advance. After haggling back and forth he let my car off the lot for $50. This shop is a prime example of why there is a stereotype that mechanics try to screw people over. Beware!
