I found this shop as it’s near my house and the reviews were great so decided to give them a shot.
My car overheated after picking it up from Firestone from them refilling my freon because it wasn’t cooling. I had it towed there because I’ve been using them for years and take all 4 of our cars there. They were much more concerned about not taking the blame than to take care of me as a customer, even though, I never blamed them for the car overheating.
I elaborated on this to say that I explained all of this to Jason and he could’ve easily billed me for whatever he wanted because I expected to have to replace the head gasket. I expressed to him that if that’s what had to be done to just let me know because it’s my wife’s car and need to make sure she’s driving around safely.
Jason checked the car thoroughly and called to tell me that the only issue was the thermostat and charged a very fair price to replace it plus the diagnostic He could have told me we needed to do much more and I wouldn’t have known because this is typically the situation a customer is in when you only know enough about engines to not get royally screwed. I was shocked and relieved that I didn’t have to spend thousands to fix it and that I found such an honest business.
They even gave me a ride home when I dropped off the car!
I am very grateful to have found this shop and they will have all my business and I never have to second guess myself when I go to the mechanic and even better, I never have to go to Firestone ever again.

I called for a pre buy vehicle inspection at 8am and told me to drop it off at 9:30. 2 hours later he was finished and discussed in detail the few minor problems it had along with a detailed list of what it would cost to fix the problem.

Who uses zip ties for automotive repairs?
One of the techs at Davis does, and apparently they are ok with it.
Went to have transmission work done, told I needed another transmission. Thought all was well, until less than a year later found I needed another transmission.
Went to Davis, but was advised to got elsewhere since they couldn't price match. Thought they were doing me a favor by being upfront, rather than over charge me.
The tech at another shop, once he removed the cover plate to get to the transmission, found the connecter was held in place by a zip tie. A ZIP TIE!
Not once was I told the connector/transmission was faulty. Not once was I given an option to accept the zip tied or just pay for a new connector. Not once was I informed there may be an issue with the new transmission.
After repeatedly calling and trying to get some sort of resolution, weeks, even months go by before I'm told they needed to transmission back in order to file a claim. Well, the other shop sent the core to the company they got the "now 2nd" transmission from. After several attempts, the 2nd shop has been unable to get that core back.
Now I'm left with paying for 2 transmissions in one year. Davis refuses to refund or reimburse me for their fraudulent repair and replacement of a fault connection.
I'm left feeling I got screwed, cheated....that tech had to have known that zip tied wouldn't last.
