Rare Disappointment
I’ve been taking my cars to the guys at DynaSport for about 10 years now. I have always been so impressed with their honesty and fair pricing. They keep my 2013 Mini Cooper in great condition. And I have recommended them over and over again to friends and family.

This time, however, I feel like I was given poor advice. And it has cost me nearly $1000.

There was a small leak, producing a drop or two of oil on the garage floor. But that was new, so I thought I better get it looked at. They found a gasket that needed to be replaced. It was in an awkward place in the engine block, and so I was told it would require several hours of work, and the bill would come to $800. To be fair, they didn’t ever tell me it was something urgent or something that could get much much worse if it wasn’t taken care of right away. But they did encourage me to get it fixed. I took their advice.

They notified me within about two hours of dropping it off that the service was done, but the car would need to sit for a few hours before I could drive it. I hoped that the bill might be slightly reduced because they were able to perform the repair so much faster than anticipated, but when I went to pick up my car the next day, the bill had somehow jumped to $967.

I have never been disappointed with the work these guys do or what they charge for their work. And my car drives really well now, so I have no complaints about the repairs that were made.

But for the first time ever, I wonder if the work really needed to be done. And I don’t feel the charges were fair.

And for the first time, I will hesitate before recommending them again, at least until the next time I need to take it in for service or repair, and see how I feel after.
