Improper/Unsafe Repair
Took our daughter's car to Eavers in January. Repairs by Eavers TD Steering & Suspension REPLACE DRIVER FRONT STRUT, CONTROL ARM, AXLE, INNER/OUTER TIE ROD, SWAY BAR LINK, HUB BEARING F COMPLETE STRUT ASSY When we got her car back on February 21, there was damage to the rear spoiler. Ryan admitted he knew who had done it, but then gave us the run around & tried to deny the shop was responsible. He even tried to say that they were not responsible for damage to the car when it’s in their parking lot even though he had admitted right away to my daughter and my husband that he knew who was responsible. My husband reminded him the car was inside their shop when the damage occurred. Cost to repair was 275.67. Took 6 weeks to get our money back & then it was in the form of a Visa gift card. On June 18, we took the same car to a local dealership because there was a roaring noise coming from left front of car. The dealership stated, “diagnosed noise as a failed wheel bearing or ball joint at the front left corner. Further investigation revealed the axle nut on the front left hub was not properly torqued & stamped to secure the nut stopping it from backing off. Because of this the hub began to wobble when driving destroying the wheel bearing. Recommended replace wheel bearing & properly torque/stamp nut" Also, from the dealership, "the axle nut on the wheel hub was not torqued causing it to back off destroying the wheel bearing, if left alone the hub could have fallen off entirely" … the mechanic at Eavers failed to torque and stamp the hub nut in order to lock it in place which meant the tire could’ve fallen off the car while driving, putting our daughter’s life and others in danger. She drove an unsafe car for 4 months. Reached out to the regional manager and his attitude was the same attitude we received from Eavers when my husband contacted them. When my husband mentioned getting reimbursed with a Visa gift card for the spoiler damage, (because who does that) he said, well, at least you got your money back. He was a complete jerk. He refused to reimburse us the $710.20 that we paid the dealership to repair our daughter’s car properly. He said we should’ve allowed Eavers to fix the car. My husband told him that Eavers was not trustworthy after they damaged the spoiler & attempted to deny responsibility & they let our daughter drive off in an unsafe vehicle because their mechanic failed to complete the work properly. Why would we return to Eavers after they improperly repaired the car in January? The cost for repairs in January was $3601.28 and ended up costing us another $701.20 because it wasn’t repaired properly/safely.
