Burst heater hose.

RepairPal.com estimate: $419 ($80 labor)

Evan's Auto Care estimate: $2760 for multiple problems detected in inspection.
Requested price to just address hose failure: $948 ($444 labor) for heater hose repair and coolant.

Took to other shop. Cost $454 ($110 labor) for heater hose repair and coolant.

I like Evans. I don't like to pay twice as much, and have to sort through necessity of repairs.

An opportunity to improve your service
First, my past experience with Evans has always been very good. The are customer focused, their work is good and they go out of their way to do only what “needs” to be done and make sure the customer understands their options. In the absence of this one thing, I would have given five stars. However, on this visit I needed a brake tail light lens replaced, which was known in advance. MY VIN number was in the computer already and had I been asked to provide a picture or come by in advance for a quick look, the part could have been pre-ordered and my car would have been ready in one day rather than needing an additional day to wait on part delivery. This is being posted as an opportunity for improvement rather than a strong criticism.

Great customer service!!!
We took my car in to have a wheel bearing replaced. John was extremely helpful and offered to drive our car home for us after he fixed it. We picked it up the next day and the charge was actually lower than what he quoted. I will definitely be back when I need repairs.

I was completely satisfied with the requested service performed by Evans Auto Care on my VW Jetta in March 2019.
I waited while the service was done, which was done in a timely manner.
