When I called, I was met with a disinterested staff member, Matt of Genesis, as he called himself. He barely acknowledged that my car had been in their shop for about two days.
Matt told me that because my car is 35,000 miles old and has had four oil changes, they cannot provide any service for it for FREE. I told him to service the recalled car and return it.
For FREE? Matt, do you Remember this?
Genesis Complimentary Maintenance
COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND
Genesis owners get Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance* for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
I got no calls that day. When I got the Delear, a Salesman told me the shop had closed. I did not get my car service; on the 24th, no one called or texted me to inform me of the status of my car. The lack of communication was frustrating. I checked in at 5:00 PM, and no one answered the phone. I got a text stating that my car had not been working, and they did not think work would start on the car's third day. I can pick up my car without it being serviced.
When I finally received my car, I was surprised that the interior was dirtier than when I dropped it off. This unexpected discovery was quite irritating. To add to my disappointment, I later discovered that the recall service had not been performed; the oil level was low, and the filter hadn't been replaced.
My overall experience at Genesis of Gaithersburg Service Shop was far from satisfactory. The lack of professionalism and attention was disappointing and unacceptable. If you value good customer service, I do not recommend this place. Matt told me to take my car to another shop if I did not like the service at his shop.
