Window Tint
This review only pertains to the Service Dept.
On 1/22/2022 I had my windows tinted on my brand new black Genesis G70. I specifically chose to have them done at the dealership thinking I would receive a quality job.
A quality job did NOT happen. My vehicle was not ready until the evening hours when it was dark so I was unable to check to the completed job. I did however stop at the store and parked under a bright parking lot light. When I returned to my vehicle I was shocked to see fingerprints everywhere! It was unbelievable! Fingerprints were on all of the windows, door handles, both right and left side of vehicle, trunk lid and all the trim near the windows that were tinted.
The next day, I was excited to see how the window tint turned out and moved my brand new car out of the garage to take a look. I was in utter shock once again! There were bubbles and blemishes on every window that was tinted!(7 windows) Both of the side wing window tint was cut too short and did not cover the window, thus, light was shining through.
After viewing all the bubbles from the outside of the vehicle I decided to look on the inside of the vehicle. Once again, I was in shock! When I opened the drivers side door, the liquid solution used to apply the tint was running down all of the door panels where window tint was installed. Not one window was cleaned on the interior. There was dried up liquid solution on each window. On the exterior of my brand new black vehicle, the liquid solution had dried where the drippings were just left to drip down the side of the vehicle under the tinted windows.
Even after seeing the non existent clean up and having to wipe down the exterior along with the interior, I did not jump to conclusions on the bubbles in each window and decided to give it time and maybe they would disappear. They did not.
I called the service department and advised them about the bubbles on the window tint. Scheduling an appointment to have them take a look was not problem and the female did not try to minimize anything, she just said bring the car in and was very pleasant to deal with.
On 01/26/2022 I arrived at the dealership at 0900hrs. I was immediately greeted pleasantly by Stone Lambert who was extremely receptive to my window tint issues. He went out to my vehicle to evaluate the situation and stated he would take my vehicle personally over to the tint shop and present the tint issues.
Throughout the day I checked on my vehicle and was advised at about 3 pm they were still working on it because they had to remove all of the tint previously applied and provide a brand new entire re-do on each window because of the above stated unsatisfactory issues. I was advised that Jeremy, the manager of the after market tint completed the re do job himself. Finally at around 5pm I could not wait any longer and asked for transportation from my home to the dealership. That also did not turn out well but Stephanie was kind enough and called me to advise me that Nate, from the dealership would come pick me up and he did just that.
I arrived at the dealership close to 6pm and was again greeted very nicely and professionally by Stone. He walked around my vehicle with me to check out the tint replacement job. He inspected prior to my arrival and only noted one issue that sounds like after 48 hours it will disappear.
My whole point in taking the time to write this dealership evaluation is to make sure this does not happen to anyone else. Whoever installed the first go round of window tint did a sloppy rush job and wasted 2 days of my life and inconvenienced me when it should have been one and done, and I’d be a happy customer on my way. There was absolutely no attempt to clean up my vehicle afterwards and just slammed on tint and called it a day. I, as a customer expected a complete job from beginning to end and that did not happen.
I do want to highlight that this poor evaluation does not reflect on my salesmen Rhett and Marcus, Edith, Stephanie and Maisy from Service, or Stone , my Service Advisor, who have been nothing short of amazing, professional and very pleasant to deal with. My only complaint is solely based on whoever installed the original window tint on my vehicle.
Other than this after purchase bad incident, I have absolutely loves my Genesis experience and only hope this was an isolated incident!
