I brought my 2015 Ford Escape in after it started smoking from the rear. I was told that I had a blown spark plug and that I needed a completely new engine, with a quote of approximately $15,000.
A $15,000 engine replacement is obviously a massive repair, so I got another opinion. The information I was given afterward was completely different. I was told the oil had been overfilled and that the vehicle needed an oil change, and the supposed blown spark plug was not actually blown.
So, according to the second assessment, I went from supposedly needing a $15,000 engine AND having a blown spark plug to needing an oil change.
That is not a minor difference in diagnosis. That is a $15,000 difference.
I am extremely thankful I did not take Greeley’s diagnosis at face value and authorize an engine replacement.
Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before spending thousands of dollars based on their diagnosis. I certainly will never be taking my vehicle back here.
