Wanted to buy but failed because of false advertising
I found an advertised price for a vehicle I had been searching for over some time. The price seemed unusually low, so I reached out to confirm its accuracy, as I didn’t want to waste my time if it was incorrect. I was assured multiple times that the price was accurate and applied to the specific vehicle in question.

I visited the dealership, took the car for a test drive, and was ready to make the purchase. However, I was then informed that the listed price was incorrect and significantly higher. After speaking with both the manager and general sales manager, I was told the price was a mistake and that they would not honor it. Interestingly, the price changed overnight, after I had been at the dealership prepared to buy at the advertised rate.

I would advise caution when dealing with this dealership. They advertised a false price, failed to honor their mistake, and changed the price after my visit. Be wary of misleading pricing practices.

On July 15th I flew from VA to RI to purchase a used vehicle that was advertised as in great condition. When I arrived, I test drove the car for about 5 minutes and ended up purchasing the car. The car had no accidents or any damage reported from both the Carfax and the dealership itself. On my 8 hour drive home, a little over halfway when I hit heavy traffic I noticed the car felt like it was limping. The next morning, I went to my local Hyundai dealership and when they put it on a lift I was shocked with what I saw (see photos/videos). I then called the dealership and Mike Messina the user car manager said that "had I brought the vehicle back in 20 minutes we would have helped." The next few calls were the most alarming because Mike Messina and GM Rob McAuliffe maintained that I was the one who caused the damage....yup you read that right. They maintained that the car never left the shop with the damage that you see in the pictures and that I was the one who caused the damage. To top it off, after doing a little digging on the internet, it seems I'm not the only one with this type of issue, being sold a car that damage was undisclosed and that the dealership then blamed it on the customer.

Terrible Service Department
Terrible Customer Care from Andrew in Service. I have purchased three NEW cars from Greico in the last 4 years and they only care about your business if you are buying a car. My newly purchased 2024 vehicle has a recall to replace the entire engine, which is stated as "serious" per Hyundai. Andrew in the service department has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. I called and left messages for 6 weeks, when I finally got a hold of him and explained that I was upset for him never returning my calls or booking an appointment given I was a loyal customer, he simply said I don't work for sales. After taking no accountability or making any attempt to apologize for his poor service, he said he would call back in a week to schedule the repairs. One month later he still is not returning calls, and my car BRAND NEW car is still not fixed!

My experience with Geico overall was a positive one with the credit going to our Salesman Armani Marfeo. He went above and beyond in every way to make our buying experience better! Armani is a pleasure to work with always had a great attitude, smile and was a fast multi tasker. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is due to the the fact that the General Manager wouldn't make good on an issue we had with the car we just purchased, despite our Salesman's efforts.

I bought a used car from Grieco Hyundai of Johnston and believe it or not, below is the SHORT version of a much longer story that is pretty ridiculous, possibly criminal, DEFINITELY super shady:

(1) Did not disclose car having been in accident.

Sales, service, body shop repeatedly lied about the vehicle having been in an accident knowing car was damaged; everything was visible the naked eye which I hadn't realized until I brought the car to another dealership.

It started when I put down a deposit on the vehicle and then waited several weeks; then David Duarte from sales called on January 30th and demanded I come on a work day and needed to have car sale "wrapped up" on January 31st . He told me the car was "100% ready to go", he drove it himself, and it had a clean carfax. Took an uber an hour away to get car (2 hours round trip), and on the way home, the dashboard lit up (cross traffic alert disabled, etc.) and I noticed loud rattling from the back. I called David and he told me the warranty would cover it; I took to a dealership that day and the dealer told me it had obviously been in an accident and the warranty wouldn't cover it (they also noted that the air filters were not replaced). The rear sensors were falling out, the exhaust pipe was broken, the rear seat belt was not installed correctly and was inoperable, the front seatbelt was ripped, the car was pulling from the misaligned sensors and the back bumper was painted a different color. Two separate mechanics verified there was no way they didn't know and in retrospect I realized that they must have known because when I test drove I told them the car was pulling and then they told me there was a delay in my being able to get the car because they needed to replace the wheel rims which was causing the pulling.

At first they tried to blame car problems on me until they realized I had pictures and videos. They said warranty would cover but it did not. Then they said they'd fix (twice) and did not. They did nothing about lying about financing other than shrug shoulders. They (Rob McCaullife) at a few points acknowledged that they knew about the damage but never in writing. They did not reimburse for uber, gas, etc.

(2) Lied about finance rate to induce sale.

The sales person (David Duarte) lied about the finance rate; he told me several days before getting the vehicle in a text that his finance manager said I could get a rate at or better than 5.09%, but the day I came to close they hadn't run my credit and then told me the rate was 6.99%.

(3) Best case, incapable of diagnosing issues; worse (likely) case, lied about problems being fixed; definitely further damaged the car .

I brought the car in to have all problems fixed (rattling, sensors not installed correctly, rear bumper painted wrong color, back seatbelt not operational, etc.) and after 6 hours, they told me everything was repaired except for the sensors which they ordered; it turns out nothing was repaired and they had caused further damage to the vehicle by failing to attach retaining hardware to the side panel by the wheel where the damage occurred and they also broke the sill plate that locks the tail gate and they removed a piece of the wheel cover and did not replace it.

(4) Did not rectify problem. I had to bring it back in a second time (another 2 hours round trip) because they said they had a right to repair the vehicle; they gave me a car that was worth roughly half of my car. They told me it would take 10 days to repair. Then I could not get a hold of them for 3 weeks.

(5) Did not return ~$3,000 in taxes I paid for car I returned.

Rob McCauliffe told me that I had to drive back to the dealership (again 2 hours round trip) and that they were not going to fix the car and they would refund "every last penny." They told me I needed to go to State House to get taxes. Auditor told me that was incorrect, Grieco had to request refund. Still have not received taxes back.

Devin Boissonneault was the most respectful and polite person we’ve ever worked with in buying a car. He was very knowledgeable in showing us the car and answering any of our questions we had. He was very helpful through the process and make the experience one of the best ones we’ve had!

Horrible service
I brought in my moms Hyundai because it needs her engine replaced. There are several issues including an oil consumption issue. There is an extended warranty out for the oil consumption as well as she has a 3rd party warranty. The car was brought in and had at least 2 oil consumption tests or so we thought. The service advisor we were working with started ignoring our calls and so i scheduled the next appointment online. When going in the advisor we worked with acted like he had never met us before and did not know what was going on. They then put us with another service advisor who then told us that everything had been done wrong and that we had to start over and set a new appointment but they would get it done right. Now coming up to the appointment. They had her down for a regular oil change appointment as well as this new advisor we are working with acted like he did not speak to us as well. With the oil consumption test you pay for the first oil change to start the process and then everything goes through the warranty, but because of their mistakes she is being told she needs to pay out of pocket again. They have also stated their knowledge of how much oil her car is consuming, yet nothing is being done properly to fix the issue. Hopefully this review will raise some red flags and be escalated where it needs to. 7 years of myself working in the car industry and this is a HORRIBLE display of customer service as well as showing their service advisors have no idea what they’re doing and seem to be afraid to ask for help. The only reason this vehicle was brought to this dealer was because there were things that needed to go through Hyundai. Never again.

Recall - BAD SERVICE
You cancelled this appointment and it was made weeks ago. You messed up my auto-start system with the security update. Now you cancel this appointment because you are too busy? OMG! AND, my car is a 2020 Hyundai Elantra. Not a 2013 Ford E250 as listed in the email I received. This is the second time I have had problems with this dealership. I WILL NEVER recommend Grieco to anyone!

Awful!
If I could give negative stars I would, this was unbelievable. Flat tire on my way into work today, piece of debris blew a hole through the aluminum rim. Called in to the place I bought the SUV (Grieco hyundai) to see if they could make an appointment and didn't feel as though I was being understood because the person on the phone kept saying they would be able to repair this huge hole in the rim so after a few back and forth phone calls I'm finally invited to bring the vehicle in so they can see it then understand a replacement rim is needed. All this is covered under my Zurich insurance plan mind you and I know this because I had to call Zurich myself to find out my warranty information because Grieco Hyundai was too busy to look that info up so I did it and the replacement is covered but this is where the unbelievable happens. I arrive at the service station to be met by new service associate Joan im assuming because he never introduced himself and after he sees the hole in the rim he sends me in the back to the Collision center even though I knew this was a service department issue. So another hour goes by and im told by the collision center that Joan was new and was mistaken and now I'm instructed to go back to the service center to see Andrew the service center manager. So I now drive back to the service center, I step into the door and I see Joan again, no apology given as a matter of fact he seemed annoyed I was back and was short with me when I asked where Andrew office was. Then I'm told Andrew just stepped out of his office for 25 min and ill have to wait longer! This forgive me sent me a little over the edge and I felt disregarded and disrespected so I started talking to MYSELF on the way to the waiting area where I'm stopped by this service associate woman who starts calling me names in the middle of the dealership and goes a step further and tries to kick me out saying I was being hostel and disrespectful when I was trying to explain to her my business was with andrew not her! Andrew finally walks in and he was totally hostel with me without hearing or asking for my side. He understood the situation after I explained it to him but he never apologized for sending my to the Collision center, never apologized for how his staff member blatantly attacked me in the middle of the dealership. He said he was going to call me back A.S.A.P. today to confirm he spoke to Zurich and an appointment was made. None of that was done I got an email Instead from him saying hyundai grieco strives to give excellent service and cares not to waste time in your busy life. A call to confirm an appointment wouldve been better and perhaps a apology for his animalistic service staff. Hope that lady who came after me today seeks help, she is clearly not ok and has no business in customer service. Nucar Tarbox hyundai of North Kingston is where ill be going now to hopefully get the service I pay for!

This has been the worst experience I have ever had buying cars. I bought a used car, had trouble since day one. I brought it back to the dealership, Grieco Hyundai of Johnston RI, at a minimum of six times explaining the trouble, telling them it was the transmission, they kept putting band aids on it, now the transmission has totally died, I had the car towed to their service department, it's been there several weeks and nothing has been done. I told them I am invoking the Lemon Law and demanded a new transmission or a total refund. I now have my lawyer involved, I have made countless calls, only getting voice mail, demanding a return call and nothing. I am fed up with Grieco, their sales and their service. They are the worst dealership I have ever dealt with!
