Great Experience
Thomas Bowkett was a great salesman. Never pushy, willing to answer any questions and very knowledgeable about the cars.
He showed me several different Hyundai Santa Fe’s upon my request, so I could compare the various features.

I never felt rushed.

My car I got from Hunters a couple yrs ago was totaled and I liked that Tucson. I liked it so much I decided I wanted another from Hunters. I remembered how easy they made buying my Tucson. I couldn’t get the Tucson but they showed me a Kona. Sweet lil ride ! Did I say I liked my Tucson a lot ? I LOVE this car ! I’m so glad Hunters knew my situation and knew what I needed but they went beyond that and got me as close to what they felt I really wanted ! Hunters made me a very happy Cajun Lady ! It really felt like family that cared about me and what they put me in ! Thank you Hunters Hyundai for helping me through all this car wreck insurance nightmare stress! I truly appreciate yall !
I’m in love with my Kona ! I haven’t named her yet but I will let you know when she is christened ! And I hope yall don’t mind if I show her off ? Oh well I can’t show her off but I will be back for another car , I hope not as soon as the previous time but I love the service there ! Shout out to Giovanni ! My salesman ! Bad Rotors on New Car Purchase
As you can see above by the lack of stars my experience was extremely bad and next, I will explain why. On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, my wife, best friend, and I all loaded up and drove to this dealership making it a 5 1/2 hour road trip to pick up my 2023 Genesis G70 You can imagine my initial excitement when I first saw it in person up close after viewing it online for weeks. While I spoke with one of the dealership members outside next to the car my best friend checked the tire treads, brakes, and rotors. It was during his brief inspection he quickly noticed that two of the rotors felt off once he touched them and shouldn't look like that for a newish car with under 20,000 miles on the odometer. I then checked them to see if I felt what he did and clear as day the feel and look were off. We brought it to the dealership member's attention who alerted the sales manager of the concern. The sales manager told us several times that since the car had been sitting for a while that's why it looked and felt that way but if you ride it for a bit the rust should fall off and even out the rotor. Right away that story made no sense to us but we went ahead with the test drive. The car felt nice until I slowed up to around 20-35mph and we all noticed (my wife, best friend, and I) how the car had a bad vibration to it guess what it was on the side that the dealership switched the 2 bad rotors to (drivers side and rear). Once I arrived back at the dealership we alerted the sales manager again that we felt a bad vibration from that side and we believed it was the rotors. He told us the same story and took it for a "test drive" himself. The sales manager came back in like 5-8 minutes and said he didn't feel anything and assured us once again it was just rust that would fall off once I took the car and drove back home. He knew we weren't buying that story and became visibly frustrated and irritated by our genuine concern for not only the purchase I was about to make for my new vehicle but for my safety on the journey back home. After being at the dealership for over 2 1/2 hours he was ready to give up on it altogether but before he did he brought in a mechanic to try and comfort me on the sale and that it's only rust on the rotors and that nothing is wrong with the vehicle. The sales manager now looked at me and said see there's nothing wrong with it now are you ready to sign the paperwork? We still weren't convinced and asked if I could at least get 1000 dollars taken off since those rotors will have to be replaced despite what you are saying and asked if I could get some new wiper blades since they looked like they could be replaced especially since the manager himself said the car had been sitting for awhile and under direct sunlight. That was too much to ask and the sales manager implied it was either a deal or no deal and that he wasn't going to budge on anything. Fast-forward to today Oct. 5, 2023 I took the 2023 Genesis G70 I purchased from the Fletcher, NC dealership to a Hyundai dealership where I am located. Before even inspecting my vehicle I told the mechanic the story that was told to me about the rust falling off and later evening out on its own. The face he made as well as laughter followed up by that doesn't make any sense said it all and reassured me that we weren't crazy. When I had him feel the same rotors that the NC dealership's manager and mechanic brushed off and lied about, he immediately noted that the fact it felt like it did mean it was warped badly and that trying to resurface it wouldn't even fix it. After the full inspection of the vehicle was completed the Genesis g70 that I purchased had an extremely dirty cabin air filter which would need to be replaced, wiper blades that were streaking up the windshield which needs replacement, and ALL rotors were warped which needed replacement and as a result of those being replaced brake pads are suggested to be replaced. Now, I have a vehicle I own not even a week and have a repair/maintenance bill for over 1,500. I'm extremely unsatisfied!!

i was told to bring my vehicle in for a paint correction
i was told to drop my vehicle off i ask for a loaner i was told they could not put me in a loaner.
in the mean time i have no vehicle to drive while the repairs are being made

Great Experience!
I recently purchased a Hyundai Kona for my college-aged daughter at Hunter Hyundai, and it could not have been a smoother or better experience. We worked with Gala Rice to make sure that we put her in the right vehicle, and I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a rebate, a fair value for my trade, and an excellent lending rate on the amount that we borrowed from Hyundai Finance. When I came out of the business office after signing the paperwork, Gala was in the car with my daughter showing her all of the new features of her car, getting her phone synced with the vehicle, and demonstrating the many outstanding safety features. My daughter loves the Kona and my family will be repeat customers for years to come. Make sure you ask for Gala when you head over to the dealership!

We brought our car in to have diagnostics run it to find out what was going on with her internally. First off, we were never able to get anyone on the phone. Even if you leave a voicemail no one calls you back. We were told that we needed a new engine...we asked to break down the reasons why...they said it would cost more to break apart the engine and fix it than it was to replace the motor. So I asked for a copy of the paperwork with the diagnostic results. He gave me the papers after we paid without the diagnostic sheet. I asked where it was...he said well he didn't run a full diagnostic my mechanic did a small one and pulled a spark plug and new what was wrong. So how does that entail I need a new engine? I took my car to another shop get a second opinion...they did a full diagnostic and a compression test and said I do not need a new engine at this point in time...I do need new sparks plugs. Hunter Hyundai didn't even do a compression test. So how did they know I needed a new engine? I mean even the bill they gave me only charged for was a $3.99 data collection fee and a $159.00 labor fee. Seriously? This place is the worse. I knew I stopped coming here for a reason but decided to give them one more chance...I am sorry I did.

Service Department is Horrible !!
Took my car in for servicing after the oil, engine and battery light were coming on and no codes coming up. They charged me almost $500 for a crankshaft replacement because “that’s usually what’s wrong when these cars come in” even though I replaced it a year ago. I returned with the same problem and they kept it for almost 4 weeks and said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. They sent me home $500 in the trash. How does Hyundai not know how to fix a Hyundai?????
I called Hyundai Corporate and they looked up the record for my car, nothing was really done for my car. I decided to take it to T&J Auto, and within a few hours were able to diagnose my car. Don’t let Hunter Hyundai fool you with being “short staffed”. T&J auto has only one mechanic right now and still managed to diagnose my car and fix the issue, turns out all they had to do was look under the hood and the issue was very simple, and was only charged $67.

Service Department is Terrible
Service Department has Terrible communication and aggressive up selling of necessary products and services. They wasted two hours of my time, charged me $180 for a diagnostic test, and then did not fix the issue (multiple safety system warning lights on). But on the bright side, they did try to sell me a $26 bottle of Fuel System Cleaner, which they described as "Needs immediate attention", so I guess we can see what their priorities are.
I dropped my car off because I had multiple indicator lights on: Traction Control, ABS, Auto Hold stuck on. The next day they looked at the car, then sent me a text that linked to some web app that showed a service had been performed: "HDBELE - BODY ELECTRICAL CONCERN" was the only description. The web app showed 4 more recommended services, and all four were tagged as "Needs Immediate Attention". The services were: (1) Wheel Bearing Replacement - Rear, (2) Fuel System Cleaner, (3) PCV Valve Replacement and (4) Spark Plug Replacement. There were no notes or explanations of what these services were or why I needed them. And, since the list included a bottle of fuel additive and trying to replace my spark plugs 12,000 miles before the owner’s manual says they need to be replaced, I didn't take any of that seriously. Hey Hunter, maybe pick up the phone next time or fix your broken web app. So, based on that nonsense, I assumed that the amount they had charged me was for the repair I needed and were just trying to up-sell me a bunch of services. When I went to pick up the car, I found that they had done absolutely nothing to fix it. The $180 was just for a diagnostic test. But actually 1 (and only 1) of the four services they recommended was REQUIRED to fix the issue. Had they made that clear, instead of trying to sell me fuel additive and spark plugs that I didn't need, then they would have my money right now and I would be a happy customer. Instead, they were so busy trying to ring extra pennies out of me that they left all the dollars on the table.
I bought my car from them new and have used them for all important service since. But never again. I'll go to the other Hyundai dealership in Asheville from now on for service and sales.

Terrible sales service and pricing
Spent half a day negotiating a deal on a vehicle to only receive a text message telling me the vehicle was sold to someone else. This is on top of the ridiculous $1000 worth of add ons like Door guards and EPP that I don't want but they "refuse" to remove. Low ball on my trade in, and the icing on the cake was the insane $3000 market adjustment they charge just because I am an out of state buyer. DON'T waste your time at this dealership! Found the same exact car at a fellow NC car dealer without all the mark ups.

Safety recall
Had a safety recall done on my Hyundai suv. The communication with the service department was very lacking until Shannon took my call. She was very professional and understanding of my frustration from dealing with no answers or callbacks for 5 months. In 1 hour she had my appointment scheduled for the 1st available time, and guaranteed me the shuttle service so I didn't have to wait in the lobby with an extremely energetic 1.5 year old. She definitely changed the entire experience for me from very negative to a positive one. The gentleman who drove the shuttle was very friendly and funny! I liked him a lot. I give them a 5 even after the very rough beginning because they did everything they could, to make a crappy situation with a manufacturer that was out of their control, better as best as they could.
