Recurring Problem w/ “Electronic Braking System” on new car
Every month, after purchase of a new Sonata from this dealership, the monthly BlueLink report I’ve received, had a warning saying there’s a problem with the Electronic Brake System, and I need to schedule a service appt. However each subsequent time I’ve taken the car in after the first time, (10/16/17, 11/14/17, 12/12/17, 02/01/18) I’ve been told, “THIS time we fixed it and it won’t happen again.” and yet the next month’s report has the identical problem, and warning to again schedule service.
So trying to learn a little more about EPSystems online, I’ve just come across a website listing multiple accidents and near misses with other cars with EBS, braking on their own while on freeways, and with parking brakes failing without warning, after being set. So, naturally a bit alarmed and not trusting this problem will be resolved with yet another service appt. I’m contacting another dealership.
