Excellent work. My 2008 Honda Odyssey runs great!
Moises put a lot of careful work into rebuilding the engine of my 2008 Honda Odyssey. When there were some initial issues after the rebuild, he completely honored the warranty and got it right. He is professional and communicated every step of the way. I always felt my car was in good hands. My van is running great now and I would 100% recommend him if you want to keep your older car running!

So worth the drive!
The shop is 70 miles from my home, but was the best place I could find in SoCal when the engine of my 2012 Jeep Rubicon needed to be rebuilt. Now it’s my first call. Moses earned my trust and loyalty with a great job on the Jeep.

I recently had a check engine light. Moses quickly fixed that too.

2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited
The 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited is the second vehicle of mine being serviced by J & M Automotive Repair. The workmanship is superior from day one to pick-up, including documentation (vehicle receipt with pictures), communication about their findings and parts that need to be replaced, and invoicing. During pick-up, as usual, Mr. Ochoa showed me the defective parts. They even changed the engine oil and filter and cleaned the carburetor for free. I am a very satisfied customer.

On March 15, 2025, I brought the vehicle in to check the intermittent stiffness of the steering wheel while turning left and for a transmission oil change. I also asked them to check for any other items that might need servicing, as I purchased it as a used car last year at CARDINALEWAY HYUNDAI OF EL MONTE, with 60,817 miles on it. This dealership is excellent, from the salesperson to the finance team. They even suggested checking the steering column, as I had noticed the issue during the test drive. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the problem, but J & M Automotive Repair discovered that the pressure in the power steering pump was no longer adequate, and there was an oil leak in the rack and pinion.

I decided to replace the rack and pinion, power steering pump, and serpentine belt as suggested by Mr. Ochoa, the owner. We also replaced the left and right axles, as the CV boot was worn out on one side. Additionally, we replaced the rear brake pads and rotors, as the pads were already at a critical level. I’ve been driving this car for four days after the repairs, and I no longer notice the stiffness of the steering wheel while turning left. It is even better and smoother than before.

I highly recommend J & M Automotive Repair for engine rebuilds and any other car issues that need fixing.

Highly recommended from engine rebuild to simple oil change
I have been bringing my 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited to J & M Automotive Repair shop for everything from engine rebuilds, suspension system shocks, control arm and axle replacements, to oil changes. Everything has been professionally done from day one, with proper documentation, including pictures, and from estimates to final invoices. Mr. Ochoa, the owner, handles both the paperwork and repairs. He explains everything clearly and will call or text you with updates about the status of your car and any parts that need to be replaced. During pick-up, he will show you the broken parts that were replaced. This week, I will be bringing my 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited because of a steering issue. The dealership couldn't figure out the problem I raised when I purchased it as a used car. J & M Automotive Repair is far better than any dealership I’ve visited in the past 23 years.

Highly recommend for engine rebuilds
The owner does good work and from my interactions with him is very honest and takes the time to explain the rebuild process in great detail. I waited a few months to review because I wanted to have time to accurately assess how successful this rebuild was and so far so good. No check engine lights and nothing too worrying. I have a slow start that requires me to give it a little gas to turn over about every third start but have been assured that this will be taken care of once we gather more information on the issue.

I will update this review if anything noteworthy arises.
