Hyundai service contract
I’ve bought 2 Hyundai’s from Amato over the years along with other friends and family members (unfortunately for Amato I’m looking to buy another Hyundai). Took my 2020 Tucson in for the 5th time at Amato (in addition to other times at their competitors service dept). Service contract was sold as unlimited oil changes. In every other instance the service was completed with no restrictions. This 5th time (at Amato) I’m told I have to pay it ‘out of pocket’. The clerk at the service counter tells me Hyundai rejected the claim when submitted. Of course I ask why this time and never for the previous 4. He doesn’t know and besides “we’re just the middleman” he tells me repeatedly. I’ve worked in sales/marketing/customer service for decades. You apologize to the customer for all the confusion and act as the customer’s representative. To the customer THE DEALER IS THE HYUNDAI CORPORATION. I also spoke to the service mgr by phone and he was equally unaccountable….a lot of “I don’t knows”…and proceeded to be very insistent with a pay up or else attitude. He finally…very begrudgingly….said “he would eat the charges”.
