Called the shop Tuesday afternoon about my Toyota RAV4 noisy muffler, Henry said bring it in the next morning at 8:00. I did. It was diagnosed by Nick, showed me the rusted exhaust joint, quoted a price and given a time to have it repaired….. I agreed . 10:30am they called it was done!! Very satisfied!!!

Trust issues now

We took the car back, 4 days after the body work was done, for the same rattling sound ($400 body work was just done). Got a call the next day saying the car wouldn't start, would quit when foot taken off gas pedal, backfiring. No mention of what we took the car in for. Joe was on vacation so we went and personally spoke with Henry about the issues. He said there were no codes and they checked the engine and 'all the basics' and he didn't know what the problem was right away. I told him to check it out and to let me know what he found and how much it would cost as I didn't know if I could afford a repair at this time and I didn't want to put more money into the car. He said he understood. However, the next day he called my daughter and told her that he already did the repair ($30 intake hose) and that our bill was $300. He couldn't show us the hose because He said "it disintegrated". I don't understand why there wasn't some part of the tube left to show me. He said he also re-welded the back wheel area (original work) and that he replaced the right rear shock (out of his own pocket) because it broke off. Then he gave us the key--whoever used it broke the top off so it could not be put back on a key ring. The only way to break that would have been to improperly put pressure on and turn the very top edge of the key instead turning the ignition. Their excuse was that 'it was old'. They made no offer to replace the key and just walked away. While driving home we discovered that the A/C unit was now not working. I don't know what they did under the hood the last several days but I don't think we will be taking our vehicles there any more.

a/c work exhaust work

I took my car in to get the AC repaired. It needed a new AC compressor. I also took it in to get a flex pipe on the exhaust work on $300 part that includes labor the AC I was told 600 needed a new pump I can understand that He told me at first that everything on the AC had been scrapped but yet at the end of the story, he said he just installed Freon and a new compressor so what happened to scrapping everything? I don’t know then he fixed the exhaust. He said it’d be better if it had a new white pipe, I said OK let’s do the new white pipe. He calls me back and tells me that the O2 sensors are 100% stripped and cannot be removed out of the white pipe so I need new ones which is another 300 bucks. I didn’t want them to be capped off because that wouldleave the check engine light on. and the remote start on the car would not work so I said go ahead and do it when I went to pay my $1885 now he said I could have the white pipe back. I asked for the old pipe back, he gave it back to me. I took it home and with a wrench I was able to unscrew the two oxygen sensors that he said were stripped. He said they were 100% stripped but yet I was able to get them out and I can put new ones in. It didn’t ruin the threads so he screwed me out of $300 then the very first time driving the car the belt that runs the AC compressor broke and then he tells me that the left side of the car on the inside blows out hot air while the right side blows out cold air. It’s probably an actuator switch of some kind. I don’t understand why this part wasn’t changed out when he found out that the hot air was blowing on the driver side after spending 600 bucks he couldn’t tell me part was $30 and it was right under the steering wheel that he could do it five minutes wasn’t done. now I have the car home I’m putting on this new serpentine belt which cost me another $20. I put on the actuator myself which cost me another 10. I bought it from a junkyard. They’re $16 on Amazon or they’re $50 at O’Reillys or AutoZone so the actuator is fixed. The AC works great. The exhaust is quiet. I’m thankful for that but now I can’t start the car because the serpentine belt is broken which he said they didn’t do they had to take the belt off to put a new AC compressor on then they had to put the belt back on so they didn’t put the belt on properly and it chewed up my very first time driving and now he says he needs to have the car towed back to his shop, which was gonna cost me money and he’s gotta diagnose it. The belt broke, diagnose it right I will never take my car to them ever again and I was planning on taking my truck up there to get new AC put in that while I was in the waiting room waiting for him getting done with another customer. I noticed the mechanic out in the garage doing rear brakes on a car and MIND you I have done breaks before and I’ve been to school for breaks. I wasn’t there to get breaks, but I was observing what he was doing. No one is beating on the caliper with the rear caliper with a hammer. OK that can slide but then when he gets the caliper off the car, he lets it dangle by the hose, which anybody who’s not a mechanic will tell you you don’t do that because I could ruin the hose they get dry rotting sometimes and then they have to. You have to buy a new hose. Then you have to bleed the brakes. These people are not professionals and that’s what I got to say about that.

I've been to this shop before but I was not aware of how extensive their repair range was. They do a lot more than mufflers. Unfortunately, the name leads you to believe this is their primary business but I found out they do much more than mufflers from my oil change guy at QDP Oil in Wyandotte.
