Old car! No problem!
As always, My Mechanic was there to help. They were very professional and stayed in communication with me while repairing my 1988 BMW. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good, honest mechanic.

Oil leak
Somewhat new to the area and looking for a reliable auto repair shop to work on my wife’s car I looked at auto shop reviews. After looking at quite a few reviews, I chose My Mechanic to address an oil leak in the wife’s 2018 Chevy Trax. After waiting three weeks for an appointment, took the car in. After just a few hours got a call from them suggesting that while the car was there to replace the spark plugs which I authorized. Picked the car up that day which I thought was great that they got it done in one day. Two weeks later I started seeing oil spots on my driveway. Called and talked to Mike and told him about the oil leaking on my driveway. I was told that the motor in the Trax is known for leaking oil out of the timing chain cover and to bring it in and they would check it out. After taking the car back received a call from Mike that it was the timing chain cover leaking and it would cost 1,600.00 to repair. Being that the wife and I are on a fixed income I decided to take the car to another shop for a second opinion. I did not tell them that I was there for a second opinion just that I had an oil leak. After just a couple minutes the shop manager told me that the valve cover gasket was leaking, the one that was just replaced at My Mechanic two weeks prior. I had that shop replace the gasket. After waiting a couple weeks to be sure the leak was fixed and no more oil spots on the driveway returned to My Mechanic to let them know that it was not the timing chain cover and that I had the other shop replace the valve cover gasket. Was told by Mike that it is a common problem for the timing chain cover to leak. After getting that response and them not offering to try and make things right I walked out. In the parking lot I was confronted by the owner who told me misdiagnosis happen all the time. I told him I had heard enough and started to walk away. When he yelled to me that they don’t @*ing deliberately rip customers off. I don’t think they do deliberately rip customers off but I do question if I had told them to go ahead and fix the timing chain cover would I have been paying 1,600.00 dollars for a gasket that was not needed!
