Mechanics were great!
Mechanics here were great – fair pricing, good communication, and I’d go back to them. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the auto electrician. I was billed $260 for a diagnosis that could’ve been done in minutes with a multimeter and the car key. The conclusion was that the relay was blown, and I was quoted $700 to replace it with no guarantee it would fix the issue. I wasn’t convinced, as solid-state relays don’t usually fail, and the horn still worked with the panic button.

I had already mentioned over the phone that the car had aftermarket wiring with loose cut wires under the driver’s side. This was noted by the receptionist but overlooked by the electrician. At home I traced the fault myself in about 90 minutes and found it was down to those cut wires. Once rewired, the horn worked again.

It didn’t feel great to pay $260 to be told the horn works and the fuse isn’t blown (which I had already mentioned over the phone when describing the fault), only to then be pointed toward the wrong issue. Disappointing and a waste of money. That said, on the mechanical side they seemed solid and reasonably priced, which is why I’m giving 4 stars. For context, I worked as a maintenance electrician for 13 years, so I do have fault-finding experience. That said, for the amount charged, I would expect a more thorough and accurate diagnosis from the electrician.
