I bought a new, not discounted GTI SE at this fine dealership. Discovered harsh thumps and bumps on mild road dips. A forum mentioned packing blocks used for shipping are sometimes overlooked and are left in the struts.
I looked at the front struts jacked up in my driveway and could feel the plastic blocks under the boots. I called to explain this to be greeted by 'never happens, they don't have blocks'. I got the writer to agree to look at it. He said come in 'anytime'. So, I came in on a Saturday with Washington plates. They said I needed an appointment. They knew I bought it there (VIN) but asked if the WA dealer had looked at it. No, but why the ask? They explained shop charges may be applied should they find it was not their oversight.
One clearly annoyed 'tech' drove the car into the bay and removed the blocks. They returned the car to the staging entry area and handed over the key. The highly trained, PR writer said nothing. Thinking they simply don't like WA buyers and look for anything and everything to hammer them.
Returned for the first 'free' oil change. Same thing, they come off busy, annoyed, terse replies, blow off low revenue pests asking reasonable questions... all with customers yelling at the counter. Can you say hostile stress masters? Never again.
