Bloated repair quote
Chrysler town and country. Was in for a quote for thermostat replacement. They wanted to change coolant too at a total cost of almost $500! Even without coolant change it was still $330. Blasts auto had changed the stat almost 3 years ago for $140 and would do it Monday for $150. After calling 3 other local shops PTL was more than $100 higher for this job. Service writer Noah wasn’t willing to work with me so I chose to pay the $100 for their diagnostic and I picked up the van. In need of the van to transport kids, I stopped at O’Reilly on my way home and bought the thermostat and a jug of coolant for $46 to do the job myself in 23 minutes.
I have provided this business with excellent review ratings from previous jobs. (Check my tractor tire rating) Ratings they have profited on greatly. I have sent family members here and others as well. Long history since 1990’s. It’s ok to be off a little $ but I found this grossly bloated.
