My wife picked out a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe on 8-22-2022. This was going to be her third new Hyundai SUV. Regional Hyundai refused to sell her the SUV because they will only sell new cars if they arrange financing. We are 68 years of age and do not want to make long term financial commitments. They don't do the adjusted dealer markup BUT don't tell you about the kickback they get from the finance companies.
