Lied about performing recall. Have proof. Filing complaint.
There was a recall on my 2022 Honda Civic in October 3 2024. I had an oil change on December 14 and mentioned the recall and the letter I received in the mail to the service advisor. She said “oh yeah, we always look and take care of all recalls when performing oil changes” after the service was done, I asked if everything was Ok? “Yep” no issues with the recall? “Nope”. That was a flat out LIE
A week or so ago, my parking sensor lights went on. It said to contact the dealer. I looked online and typed in my VIN and realized the recall was never performed. How could it be? Apparently it requires the car to be on site for 1-2 days. That’s doesn’t get looked at during a 1-hour oil change. Unbelievable carelessness.
I went in for an appointment this morning 2/8 regarding the recall. I explained the situation to the Service Advisor Shelley. She said “OK, that will be a $159 diagnosis charge” I asked about the recall. “Well you have to leaver you car here 1-2 days” I didn’t know that. I asked why I was lied to back in December. “We probably didn’t have the parts at that time” really? That’s your answer? Ridiculous and unprofessional. Lots of attitude. Not courteous or apologetic. Apparently this is all my fault…
I can get a diagnosis in 5 mins for free at Autozone and I am also filing a complaint today with the NHTSA. This is lazy, unprofessional service.
