Rick's does good work, but the reason for my lackluster rating is its "lifetime warranty."
I had two cars that Rick's fixed, and painted. One car was fixed about 10 years ago, and still looks great.
The other car needed a new door and then was repainted about 9 years ago.
After about 7 years, the door that Rick's painted increasingly started turning white, which is very noticeable on a black car.
So, I took car to Rick's in hopes that they would honor the "lifetime warranty." The gentleman said he would ask about this at the next meeting (with Rick himself, I believe).
When I called back to follow-up, I was told that there would be no free repainting, instead I would be charged $644 (which was a whopping 15% discount).
Supposedly it wasn't Rick's fault, but the clearcoat that they used is very often only warranted for 5 years. Sounds like this is splitting hairs to me.
I wonder why the rest of the car still looks fine. Maybe the manufacturer puts on a better quality clearcoat.
In any event, I ended having the repainting done at a different shop for about half the price.
