An Attempted Tire Repair
My CX50 was dropped off at Rocky Ridge Auto 6/25/26 due to a flat tire. This garage was the recommended service per my Roadside Assistance.
I was contacted later that day and informed my valve stem was corroded, and that it had broke upon the removal of the cap. While this was surprising on a new vehicle, I assured the tech I’d cover the additional charges.
At 3 PM that afternoon I was contacted again and was told there “were no leaks in the tire and the vehicle was ready for pickup”. While I questioned the tech on this, he verified they had performed several tests to confirm.
Upon being dropped off at the shop for pickup 3 hours later, I walked up to the vehicle to see the tire was completely flat. The sales team informed me a manager would be in touch the next day.
6/26/26- The same tech calls me and tells me “due to the extent of the puncture, the tire is non-repairable”. Not only that, he has a quote to replace all 4 tires due to wear.
Following this call, I contacted the office and asked for a manager. I was again informed he was not available but would call me later that day.
Since I was now at the mercy of the shop with no functional vehicle, I gave the tech the go-ahead on tire replacement.
I waited all afternoon with no follow-up calls. At 4:30, I’m contacted by the tech that the tires were installed and again ready for pickup.
I returned to the shop immediately and requested a chat with the manager. After some internal conversation, I am told that management was “on vacation” and “might be back next week”.
No apologies or reimbursement for the experience.
