Diagnostics
I understand everything cost money but a $200 diagnostic to tell me it needs a $1400 starter seems ridiculous. Last time I went there it was a $3400 estimate that I had fixed for $600. If you can’t trust someplace to fix your car fairly then go elsewhere

Chris,
We dont look at your car for free so you can take it somewhere else to have it fixed. Do you expect them to install the starter for free too?
If I have to pay the technician, then you have to pay for the time spent. You were charged one hour of labor to push the vehicle in and back out again as it did not start, and the time spent to troubleshoot the starter circuit. I believe this charge is very reasonable and fair. And the starter replacement was $1200, not $1400.
As far as your last visit; comparing a new ECM to a online reman is not a fair comparison. As I told you then, you can install a reman unit, We dont as too many of them fail. I am glad you were able to save some money, I hope it lasts for you.
