Good Service Department, Don't Bother When They Call to Purchase Car
I love my Sonata Hybrid Limited with Ultimate Package. Even when it marked each fifty miles with a breakdown due to computer issues, which the dealership patiently diagnosed and eliminated.

The vehicle is what I like to call a "Super Prius:" broad backseat, spacious interior, 44 mpg. It holds the lane, follows traffic, brakes smoother than our Tesla.

With wartime gas prices rising, the dealer called and asked if we'd consider selling it back, I agreed to bring the car in to be inspected.

It is in showroom condition, one minor bump in the carfax record, when a teen hit our wheel.

Shottenkirk offered us LESS than the pre-gas crisis trade in value! To be specific, the latest NADA is now $35,550 for this car and they offered $26K.

A stunt akin to the kind of thing to be expected at our previously adored Toyota dealership here in Granbury, after Shottenkirk bought them, too. I am finished with anything bearing the Shottenkirk name.

N Shane, we are sorry to hear we didn't live up to your expectations for the value of your vehicle. There are a lot of different factors that go into assigning a value to a vehcile we purchase for re sale. To name a few, the overall condition, what it will take to recondition the car, what others are selling for in the local area, and certainly the carfax are all factored in. The book value you may have seen is not something that we use when evaluating a vehicle. I am sorry we were not able to give you exactly what you wanted for your vehicle. I would love to discuss your expereience further to see if there is anything we can do or what we may have missed that brings more value to your car. If you have a moment please give me a call.
