I am a 75 year old widow. I brought late husband’s 1987 Chevy Corvette in for major hail damage. The owner John made an estimate for $4,500 and submitted it to my insurance company. My insurance company approved the estimate and sent The Dent Co the $4,500 check to make the repairs. They immediately cashed the check and said they would call me as soon as their dent removal tool was fixed. (They never told me upfront that their dent removal tool was not working) I waited for 2 months and never got a call so I called them and John said his dent removal tool was still broken and I should call back in a few months… I called back multiple times 2 months later and they would never answer the phone. I went up there and asked for my money back and he told me he was sorry but he didn’t have it. I was in shock. I didn’t not know what to do. I contacted the police and they said it was a civil matter and there is nothing they could do and I would just have to hire an attorney. I don’t know if I have the energy to pursue it any further. I just feel like I got taken advantage up. Perhaps because I am an old lady. I guess I will never know. Shame on them.
