The Service Center in Kenton has earned all of my family’s business
I highly recommend The Service Center in Kenton and could not be happier with my experience.
I recently purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle for my son that is still under warranty. After about 2,000 miles, we noticed a vibration that seemed to come from the rear axle area whenever turning right while accelerating from a stop. I first took the vehicle to the dealership for diagnosis. Their technician said excessive rust buildup on the rear rotors was causing the vibration and recommended replacing both the front and rear brakes and rotors. That diagnosis did not make much sense for a “certified” pre-owned vehicle, especially one with very low mileage. To make matters worse, I was charged nearly $200 for the diagnosis because they classified the issue as a maintenance-related brake concern.
I declined the dealer’s repair recommendation and decided to get a second opinion. After hearing many positive things about The Service Center, I scheduled an appointment and asked them to replace the rear brakes and rotors while inspecting the front brakes. I intentionally did not mention the dealership’s diagnosis because I wanted an unbiased evaluation.
On the day of service, Adam called and asked why I believed the rear brakes needed replacement. He explained that the brakes were actually in very good condition, with well over 50% life remaining. After I told him about the vibration and the dealership’s brake/rotor diagnosis, Adam recommended against replacing the brakes unnecessarily. Instead, he offered to investigate the actual cause of the vibration.
The Service Center determined that the issue was coming from the AWD coupler connected to the rear differential and recommended taking the vehicle back to the dealership for warranty review and replacement.
Not only did The Service Center charge substantially less than the dealership for diagnosis, but they also turned down easy money by refusing to perform work that was not needed. That level of honesty and integrity is rare today. On top of that, they correctly diagnosed an issue that the dealership’s certified technicians completely missed.
Thank you to Adam and everyone at The Service Center for the professionalism, honesty, and excellent service.
