Missed a Dangerous Brake Issue — Had to Be Fixed by Another Shop
I had my car inspected in early December and it passed after the front brake pads were replaced. About two weeks later, I received a low brake fluid warning and the brake pedal felt spongy. I returned to this shop and was told there was a rear brake line leak that only needed to be tightened, and the brakes were bled.
About a month later, the same warning returned. I took the car to a different shop, which found the leak in the same rear area but determined the rear caliper was leaking and needed to be replaced.
A failing rear caliper should have been identified during the first visit, especially since this was a brake fluid leak and a safety issue. I won’t be returning and recommend caution when trusting this shop with brake repairs.
