Epic clusterf***
Brought my car in with a flat tire on the rear passenger side early Saturday morning. Tried to change it to the spare myself, but the bolt were put on so tight (by Tires Plus!) that they could not be removed, not one. Broke one off trying to remove it, which of course created a massive additional expense. Even AAA could not remove a single lug nut. AAA guy and I both hard an air leak on the bottom of the tire. Manager told me they might not be able to fix it on the weekend,, but Monday for sure. On Monday I called late afternoon and they hadn't even looked at it. If they had told me this from the beginning I would have brought it somewhere else. On Tuesday they looked at it and called with a message saying they had inspected the entire vehicle and recommended $2,000 worth of repairs, including new front tires. Not being inclined to give business to people who had already screwed me on the pace of repairs, I said no. Came in to get my car and found it had the exact same flat tire it did when I brought it in. They were ready to charge me $250 for doing exactly nothing to improve the condition of my car. They said it needed a new tire, because there was a leak in the *side* of the tire (there wasn't when I brought it in). I had no choice to buy a new tire, which I did. Got charged $166 for the new tire and $350 overall. The tech told me that he took off charges related to the repair of the tire. What repair? I wondered. What was the other $190 for? Wheel stud repair on a stud that they themselves had tightened beyond all reason. Would love to trust them about the $2,000 worth of additional repairs they recommended, but I think I will take my business elsewhere forever.
