Superior Service
When changing my oil, my Mechanic found upcoming “issues” so I opted to address it now. Thank you for keeping your eyes open to the whole picture, which could have more than “inconvenient” consequences for me.
Also I referred my partner - you did great work at getting him back on the road, quickly & safely.
Manager from Tom Dwyer Automotive Services responded on 07/03/2026 02:24 PM

Thank you Raye, and we're glad to keep you and your partner on the road.  We don't mention it as often as we should, but the "whole picture" vision is a huge part of our service.  For instance, we pay our Techs on an hourly basis rather then the industry-standard Flat Rate.  Flat rate pays fixed amounts for specific tasks, so technicians are motivated to do tasks as fast as possible rather than as good as possible.  They certainly aren't paid to consider the rest of the vehicle outside their specific task!  Also, we try to pair the same Technician with the same vehicle on each visit.  This lets them pay attention to the overall health of the vehicle over time, keep an eye on developing situations we've noticed on past visits, and notice when a problem may be forming that even the client may not know about yet.  When most people come to Tom Dwyer they don't want a widget fixed, they want their vehicles to be kept "safe, breakdown-free, and operating at their best" AS A WHOLE, and FOR THE LONG TERM.  And we'll keep doing it as best we can!
