Vatos is padding their invoices. .
Vatos is padding their bills by not being upfront about costs. I went in for an oil change and asked them to check my front windshield washer and why it wasn't working. They repaired it without checking with me if I wanted them to. I was very surprised at check out when my total charges were $328.00.
They are not upfront about costs and are taking advantage of customers.

To clarify the circumstances of your visit, when you first arrived, you stated, “You performed my 80,000-mile service, and you kept my washer fluid and disconnected my windshield washer nozzles.” When I asked whether you were certain our shop had caused these issues, you confidently confirmed that we had.

During this visit, you requested an LOF (lube, oil, and filter service) and asked us to diagnose why your windshield washer system was not functioning. You also stated that the vehicle had been parked since your previous service. However, our records show that your vehicle had 81,828 miles at the time of that service and now has 87,127 miles—a difference of 5,299 miles. Given that mileage, it is reasonable to question why the issue was not brought to our attention sooner.

We completed the requested service and had our technician inspect the windshield washer concern. During the inspection, the technician identified evidence of previous body repairs and found that the windshield washer fluid hose had been punctured during the removal or reinstallation of the front bumper. This damage was consistent with work performed outside our shop, not with the service we had previously completed.

Our shop diagnosed the problem and corrected an issue that we did not cause. We did not take advantage of you; we performed the services you requested and identified the actual cause of the washer system failure. Rather than accepting blame for damage associated with previous bodywork, we addressed the concern and restored the system's functionality.

If you believe you are entitled to reimbursement for this inconvenience, I recommend contacting the body shop that performed the previous repairs and requesting that they review the findings.

We stand behind our work and take our responsibility to our customers seriously. However, we also expect our technicians and our business to be treated fairly when an inspection identifies damage caused by another party. We are happy to take responsibility for issues resulting from our work, but we cannot accept responsibility for damage that our findings indicate was caused elsewhere.
