My 10 y/o battery died while the car was sitting in my garage. There was absolutely no response when I pressed the Start button. I checked the battery and saw a major buildup of corrosion "dust" so I knew it had to be replaced and should not try to jump start it. I called AAA. A Village 10 representative came to the house and installed a new one. Very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I have a 2016 Ford Escape, which is a challenge for anyone trying to service under the hood parts, but she did it quickly and efficiently. I have had no problems starting the car since.
Three months later I brought the car to my Ford dealer for a oil change/tire rotation,. etc service. The service included checking the battery. The Ford mechanic noticed a smaller buildup of corrosion and recommend I bring the vehicle to the Maintenance side if the facility, or back to Village 10 for a check or repair. He tested the battery and it had a normal "CCA" Cold Cranking Amps reading, so the problem might be in the cable. It called Jorge at Village 10 and left a message. He called me back that evening and I gave him the specifics. He asked me to come in the next day. They examined the cable, and it had excessive corrosion for several inches down the cable from the terminal. They had the replacement cable in stock and had it installed and my car back in my hands within 3 hours! Friendly, professional and courteous service! I a a happy customer!
