My tedious repair
I just had my car repaired at Cranston's after my power steering motor failed. This was a nightmare repair & they went out of their way, first to find the part then install the right one. The part was part of a national recall, but you weren't to take it to a dealer, you were to wait till it let go, take it to get fixed, then send invoice to GM & they'd reimburse us. Oh, also had a time & milage limit for which I exceeded. And GM doesn't make this model anymore & I can see why, sadly. Cranston's searched high & low & finally found one after 5 different places that said they had the part & when they went to pick it up, it was half of what they had said they had. Oh & one was complete, installed & while out on test drive, it let go. Thankfully they finally found a new one, went & picked it up & installed. Price was what he quoted & there was no extra charge for research & travel to find the part.
