Great car but some drawbacks

I love almost everything about this car except its has more maintenance issues than all other cars I’ve owned combined. However great gas, handles amazing and is very comfortable.

This Elantra was our 14th Hyundai, enjoyed it for 3 years.

We continue to like Hyundai cars, one huge reason is all the standard things other manufacturers call "extras". Satellite radio & navigation system to name just two, which, sadly are now part of a premium package. That fact was unknown to both of us and to the folks at the dealership-we purchased a new 2026 last week and found out after the fact that both items were not on our 2026 Elantra SEL Sport Premium. Since we hadn't left the dealership, we told them to cancel the deal, tear up the paper work and find us a proper car. We ended up having to pay $2000 more just to get what had been standard on all of our previous Elantras. We aren't as pleased with Hyundai as we had been.

The 2023 Hyundai Elantra Limited Exceeded my Expectations

I was a bit apprehensive about retiring my 2012 Elantra with nearly 200K miles, but I didn't want to risk another transmission repair. The leather seats in the 2012 model held up exceptionally well (which is why the Limited edition is the only choice for me). I do miss the light blue color and briefly considered having my 2023 model repainted to match, but the silver/bronze color has grown on me. I do wonder whether the new leatherette material in the 2023 interior will hold up as well as the 2012 interior did. The car has all the power I need, and the air conditioner works well even during Arizona summers. I like how it has an updated technology stack, and the dash display is so much better and bigger than the comparable Toyota and Nissan models. I do worry that it might require an expensive repair after the warranty is expired. I get lots of compliments on the car. I am not a big car enthusiast, nor am I into conspicuous consumption. But for my money, the Elantra Limited is essentially a luxury vehicle.

It's a car you could drive

Car is fine and gets you from A to B but sometimes it decides to update its software while you park it for any length of time without prompting the driver...This leads to significant headaches when you need to sit at a gas station for 45 minutes during a 3 hour road trip

Help

I need help. I’ve taken my car in to Premier Hyundai, which is now Pedder Hyundai which is terrible to deal with. I wish Hyundai would’ve never let Pedder buy that place. My transmission slips constantly in my car shakes at an idle. They keep saying the car is fine. I need someone from Hyundai to contact me immediately please I believe my car is a lemon. I really don’t wanna do this review because I wanna do it. Honestly I’ve owned a lot of Hyundai we own a Santa Fe as well. I worked for Hyundai. I worked for the Premier store until they sold it to Pedder I love Hyundai and I know you guys will do the right thing and help me. That’s why I’m reaching out. I just believe I got a bad car and I know you guys can fix the situation and make it better for me so please reach out to me.
