Beautiful Looking Car

My Hyundai is a gorgeous looking car. It drives extremely well and we are saving a lot of money because its electric and we don't have to buy gas. I don't notice much difference in our electric bill.

2 year lease experiment

1. 20'' wheels with 40 Profile makes great cornering at the expense of easy curb rash when parking. Those are expensive wheels. I couldn't get any Ioniq 6 with 18 or 19" wheels: the few vehicles on the dealer's lot were identical, SEL AWD most likely silver color. Also those tires wheels cost 10% less range. Why is the choice so narrow? It would help to park if one had a surround camera but that's only on a Limited. My $32K Chevy Bolt has a surround camera. Those 40 profiles make the car ride harshly. 2. Battery preconditioning requires the user to plan a charger as a destination and it has to be within a certain range. What a pain. Let me just manually turn it on when I start approaching the location I chose. 3. Here's an SEL with a MSRP of $48K and doesn't have a heated steering wheel. Really? 4. Dealer involvement has the usual terrible haggling. I can never get a straight answer, hour waiting for another manager person to get back while I'm there. Sales personnel really don't know much about the functions of electric vehicles. Don't get me started on dealers. 5. Plug N charge only works in a very limited capacity, just ChargePoint. But I understand that may be the fault of the electric vehicle charging network. But it doesn't work with Electrify America. 6. Backup light illumination; when backing up in the dark if you touch the brakes the brake lights entirely wash out the camera view. Also if it's raining or has rained the camera view is distorted because the camera has no protection from these elements. 7. I believe I had some navigational OTA upgrades but no other upgrades. Take a note from Tesla where owners report fixes or enhanced functions.

Elegant interior and exterior. A blast to drive.

I use any excuse to drive this Ionic 6. I've lately set it at "power" and use max regeneration. It's sleek lines and untroubled response make this a great car.

In a world full of simple and minimalist cars, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 tries something new. With its unique and bold styling, to the simple but refined and stylish interior and ambient lights, I can't sing the praises for this car enough.

Form and function in one car: beautiful and easy to drive.

This car is a treasure. The drive is easy, smooth, and has incredible pickup. It is a little complicated to understand the change, so the online videos are very helpful. I love that I no longer worry about gas pumps, oil changes, and smog tests. PGE has changed very little, so I believe I am saving money.

The Ionic is a very comfortable car with many safety features built in

I enjoy driving my Ionic 6. It has very good safety features like backing assistance that alerts you with an audible sound when a vehicle approaches as your backing. It has a very user friendly display console interface that incorporates the steering wheel making it very useful as you keep your eyes on the road.

Hardware OK, software poor

I previously had a Tesla, which had its own issues but the Tesla software was great. I have been very disappointed in the Hyundai software. No walk away lock, no sentry mode, way too many annoying beeps and alerts that can't be disabled, no wireless Apple Carplay, the digital key has never worked with my iPhone (dealer could not get it to work either), lane tracking is only minimally useful because it fails and will drift out of the lane on any non-trivial curve, the UI navigation is in general nonintuitive, and the weird segregation of function between physical buttons and screen is constantly an issue. The char has to be shut off, even though that seems ridiculous -- if it is in park and i walk away and lock the car and the car knows nobody is in the seats, why should I have to turn off the car. Even in the physical button realm there are three different buttons in the car with a P on them and no obvious clue to what they do, other than the Park button on the stalk which is easy to remember -- i have no idea what the other ones do. Other glitches in the UI, once you turn on lane tracking there is no obvious way to turn it off - holding down the same button on the steering wheel that you use to turn it on (which you would think would disable it) does not work.

The iconic 6 is great car. The worst part is that Hyundai stopped selling them in the US. I would buy a new one in 2027 if I could.

Drivers well. Enjoy the long range regarding miles. Decent tech for an entry level EV. Very spacious inside the cabin. Fits rear and forward facing car seats well. Really fun to drive in Sport Mode.

Love it

After many years of boring cars, my I6 is actually fun to drive. This is the most important part. The less important parts include far less expensive to drive. I only charge at home, and since getting the solar system installed, the sun covers my entire electric costs.
