My Ionic 9

I absolutely love my new Ionic 9 electric car. The ride is so smooth and quiet. The controls are easy to use and make my experience with driving such a pleasure. I feel very safe when I’m driving this car. The view from the front is huge! I love the technology that’s included. The quick reference manual has been so helpful in getting up to speed with the features of my new car. My large family has no problem finding a place to sit in this 7 - seater SUV. I’m extremely happy my husband convinced me to take a test drive with him. That was a very good decision.

Love the car, but wish Hyundai would openly address ICCU issues

Absolutely love everything about our new 2026 Ioniq 9, its design, the smoothness and quietness, the fast charging and range. It is clearly the best value electric SUV on the market. That said, if you look at social media including Facebook and Hyundai owner forums, the unreliability of the ICCU is a huge problem, to say the least. It appears that Hyundai and its dealers avoid discussing the issue, which causes sudden failure of the vehicle without notice, and for no consistent reason. You could be on a vacation with your family when suddenly you hear a pop, a warning message appears on the dashboard, and the vehicle is forced into limp mode. The vehicle then needs to be towed to the nearest dealership, which could be a considerable distance, and it may take weeks if not months for the car to be repaired. You’re on your own, Hyundai may or may not provide a loaner car, or assist with the cost of a rental car. The responses by Hyundai are all over the map, frustrating owners. It’s also possible the dealership you were towed to has no understanding of EVs and the ICCU issues, requiring the vehicle to then be towed to another dealer who has mechanics experienced with EVs. The repairs cannot be done by anyone but a Hyundai dealer. It’s a nightmare for owners, even if ICCU failures supposedly affect less than 1% of Hyundai or Kia EVs. Few owners believe the failure rate is this low, but no one seems to be able to get accurate information. Hyundai is making a huge, huge mistake ignoring this problem. They are destroying the reputations of the EVs among those interested in buying an EV. If unaddressed, this will someday make for an interesting case study in business school of how large corporations are often their own worst enemy. Kodak, Sears, IBM, Xerox are comparable examples from years past.

A great progress from Ioniq 5

This might be nitpick but I I previously owned the 5 and thus had home charger. Now the 9 has a different connector which means I always need an adapter. That has been a little frustrating, but otherwise love the car. I was also a little disappointed that there were a few components that were broken upon delivery of new car and took almost 6 weeks for dealership to get it fixed.

Excellent vehicle. Quality Ride. Lower battery range than I expected.

Many nice features. Comfortable ride. Excellent storage. Some safety sensors are annoying. I like to drive with my left hand across the steering wheel but this blocks sensors and makes my card mad. Should have auto lock functions like Tesla. On highway - battery drains too fast . In town- battery lasts incredibly long. Many compliments on Sage Green color. Beautiful.

Wonderful car! Hyundai does EV again with another win!

Second EV from Hyundai. First was the second Ioniq 5 sold at Pohanka Hyundai. Loved that too! This is certainly an upgrade! I've owned exclusively Hyundai cars since my 1996 Accent and will never buy anything else!

my first all electric

ionic 9 has lots of technology , only complaint is the range is listed at around 320 miles but on trips i am getting about 200 miles , so definitely some battery range anxiety

Charging and lane assist issues

We have the Tesla port on the Ioniq 9 but I can't just pull up to any Tesla station to charge and now I'm having issues with the Tesla charging station I was able to charge with before. We were using our home charger provided by Hyundai and it seems to have stop charging for some reason. We previously owned a Kia Sorento with perfect lane assist but it seems the Ioniq and the EV9 can't figure out exactly how to center to that lane.
