Big Beautiful Ride

I am very proud of my Ionic 9. It is full of fancy features, some of which I don't understand yet. It is so convenient when needing to transport several people. It rides and drives wonderfully. It is very comfortable and most of all, very very safe. I feel very confident driving it and transporting my precious cargo, my grandsons!

Grateful vehicle with terrible radio and satellite reception

I love the car. The radio/satellite reception is awful. The official statement from Hyundai is the radio works as engineered. There is no external antenna.

Great when it works...

I love many things about this car, they mostly center around how it drives and the amenities inside the car. The core reasons I brought the car for still hold true. It drives fantasticly, you don't realize you are moving a large 7 person vehicle. The interior comforts are brilliant. We've driven thousands of miles across the country and everyone had room (even the dog). The tech is great, it works and it's been intuitive to use. The charging and EV app is excellent. I get the details I want about the car and compared to the other EV we have, finding, using and paying for charging stations was really helpful. it also helps that the car is Tesla Supercharger compatible. The problems. We stress tested this car, we drove it from Seattle to LA, as mentioned above, the comfort was excellent. However the problems happened on the way back when we took the car through a car wash. There is no car wash mode so we looked up the best suggestions and employed them all. It appeared to be fine but that night, it would not charge. We were 400miles from home and worried about our new car. Hyundai support did offer to tow us back. But the next morning it miraculously started towing again! 2 months later the same thing happened again, this time no car wash, it just stopped taking charge and the batter pack was giving an error message. I rationed my driving and was initiialy told that it would take a month before my car would be seen. I rang around other service centers and found one which could do mine in a few days. They ended up needing to order a new pack and kept the car for almost a month. We did get a loaner car but the inconvenience was severe and undermined our trust in the technology. it has been fine since then. However we have noticed build quality issues around edges and pieces partially coming off in the door. This never happened in 6 years with my prior car, a Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Good technology that still needs bugs to be removed and worked out

I drove my ioniq 9 for the first 3 weeks of the lease and then the car was in the shop to fix an electronic problem for 5 weeks before returning to me .

2026 SEL Ioniq 9 EV

Large internal space is a big plus providing comforts. The driving performance is satisfactory for the large size car. The app connectivity is not good, slow response. The steps to start driving need too many steps like "key fob", "start", "drive", "i-pedel". I wish to have simple steps like Tesla.
