Great quality and reliability. Speed is excellent. Battery usage and storage is more difficult than gas but not difficult to find alternatives

Great EV for the price

Love the pep- never need to take it off ECO mode. Hardly use the brakes; love the AUTO setting for engine braking. Fine in the snow. Not happy with the climate system- never warm or cold enough. Range drops significantly in cold weather but it had no issues with starting and operating in extreme cold.

Good little EV.

Good power. Cute styling. Brakes get confused when using regenerative braking. Rear rotors make awful grinding noise after every rain. Drives well. A bit twitchy at highway speeds. Chevy Bolt is similar size, not quite a powerful, not quite as high quality of ride, but it is more stable at highway speeds. 12V battery died first winter. Horn died. These are more problems than i would like with a new vehicle. Headlights could be brighter. Battery life in winter drops 30+ % with no battery heater. Faster fast DC charging would be good. Better built in charging location like Tesla would be nice.

For the most part love it!

I do love this car but a few things I would change is that when it says it has 12 miles left then it goes to none. If the car dies then there is no way to open the charging port. When I pre heat my car most times when I go to in it is not pre heated. If the car dies the emergency lights do not work which is when you need them the most. But the day to day the car is good!

Great little electric car!

Wonderful little car. Overall, I really like this Kona electric. Like any car I find there are minor niggles, but the car is very fun to drive and in my experience has between 220 to 250 miles of practical range.

Amazing car, terrible app

Perfect size for city parking. Highway driving assistance is literally the best thing for stop and go traffic during commutes. I frequently drive between San Diego and LA and only need to charge for about 20min to make the entire trip. The ventilated seats in the limited are a savior during hot weather. The bluelink app is atrocious.

Fun to drive, easy to use.

This is my first EV and I’m quite happy with it - it still has a “normal” car look and feel (vs models that are obviously EV-built). I’d like more customization in the cab - the blue lights around the interior would be well served to be customizable similar to the Ioniq. As far as driving, the car accelerates and handles very well, the interior is comfortable and I sincerely appreciate that a lot of the console functionality is still buttons and dials; not all touch screen.

Very good ,but bad 12v battery

Very good until my 12 v battery went dead in my drive way. Hyundai of escondido would not replace it

Fun and reliable

Fun car to drive and , so far, very reliable. Great car for local driving. Great maneuverability. I wish it had warning system in front when you may get close to something ( like the backup warning system).

I hate it

Don't get me wrong the car is fine but the fact that it has depreciated about $600 a month since we bought it is bonkers. I understand that there is a normal amount of depreciation when you buy a car but it's lost OVER half it's value and it's 2 years old. That's unacceptable and I would never recommend anyone buy this car knowing that

An excellent overall vehicle for the money

We leased the 2023 Hyundai Kona to dip our toes into the EV space. We really enjoyed everything about the car. Good ergonomic driver controls and intuitive menus/displays. Excellent battery life, quiet on the freeway, and the sport mode made it a really fun drive. The only issue we ran into was when we needed to transport 4 adults and 3 full size suitcases... The trunk space in this particular model year really could only fit a single full size suitcase. So, have to lay down one seat for 2 suitcases, and cram 2 adults in 2/3's the back seat... This looks to be remediated in newer models, so if you don't need this kind of storage space all the time, this is a really nice option

A Very Impressive EV For The Price

The Kona has impressed me with its range and quietness. Rated at 258 miles per charge, I am regularly able to drive the Kona for 300+ miles between charges, averaging between 4.7-5.0 miles per kilowatt hour. The car -- particularly compared to pricier Teslas -- is very quiet at highway speeds, with little wind and tire noise. The only things I would change are the relatively tiny cargo area (addressed by the second generation Kona Electric), and the occasionally bumpy ride.

Good car, reliable and good pickup

Car is mostly reliable with few issues in 2 years. Needs longer driving range, only 220 miles, could use faster charging with supplied plug. Overall a good car, comfortable, quiet and fast pickup. Noisy and shakes with windows open though.
