Great, functional, no frills car

This car is great for so many basic, utilitarian things. Plenty of passenger space for a family of 4 with older kids with ample space behind the seats in the back for suitcases, groceries, cooler, etc. The electric drive is smooth, responsive, and the brake blending (regen with friction brakes) feels seamless. The center console is just OK (could use bigger cupholders and better slots for phones and cables), but that's a minor gripe. The DCFC speed is disappointing, but you can't have it all. And the ADAS works great.

Excellent First EV

The 2024 Hyundai Kona is my first EV and certainly won't be my last. I really love how reliable and fun to drive this car is. It has so many great safety features that I feel really comfortable driving it. The range is great even to take on a long trip.

Perfect size & functionality

Love it! Handles well, charge goes 300+ mi (in warm weather). My only complaint is I wish there was a little more storage for small items (currently there's just the ctr console). Otherwise great safety features...Rear & forward cameras are good resolution & really help w/ parking. Hatch is roomy. Limited version has heated & cooled seats...All around a very enjoyable driving experience!

Great Overall Vehicle

Love driving my Kona Electric. The only complaint is I wish the one pedal driving was still on when I restart the car instead of needing to be selected again. This has lead to some dangerous situations where I expected to slow down when I lifted the accelerator but I did not. I then needed to quickly apply the brakes manually to avoid an accident.

KOna EV is fundamentally a good, fun car, but with too much range loss and too slow charging in temperatures below about 30F degrees even with preconditioning.

Works well, joy to drive

After some initial problems with the 12v auxiliary battery, this car has been a great vehicle. The smooth quiet motor, the decent range, the safety features and the comfort (ventilated seats) and the wireless capabilities accessibility from my phone are outstanding.

Most of the first year was fabulous but the charging to be replaced

After only 6 months the charging housing needed to be replaced. Because of the backlog of available appointments I was unable to drive the care for almost one month.

The best car I have ever owned

I had wanted to go electric for a while, and the Ionic 5 had caught my eye, but was a bit out of my budget. When the 2024 Kona was announced, it had almost everything I loved from the Ionic 5 at a very reasonable price. It has all the latest tech, is fun to drive, and looks pretty cool.

I like the car very much, good mileage and has a lot of nice features. Biggest complaint is the android auto often malfunctions making it impossible for me to ever call someone using voice command

The only problem we have with this car is the battery degradation is degrading more than expected. The good news, we have a 10 year battery warranty

Great Ride

I went from a full-size pickup to the Kona, and I enjoy driving again. My driving is mostly 50-100 mile round-trips, once or twice a week, with a little driving on dirt construction roads in addition to on-pavement. So far (14 months) I have only recharged at home, using the 12 amp portable charger, which takes a couple days to bring the battery back to a high charge from a low condition. I bought a rapid charger when I got the Kona, but have yet to install it as the portable is fast enough, and I can use a public fast charger if I'm ever in a bind.
