If you're in tune with vehicle DO NOT BUY
Since day 1 this Palisade runs like crap you can feel the engine in the floor/ wheel/ seat. The throttle sensitivity seems to change at every stoplight. One stoplight it will be normal and the next you can't give it enough gas to get the thing to move. Then the next you're spinning tires.
The transmission and all technology in this thing is so poorly programmed its sad. Attempting to pass someone with this car you might as well floor it beacause if you don't you may never get a downshift. The transmission is programmed to lock the converter at such low speeds you can feel the engine shuddering and chugging along then it refuses to downshift. Once it finally decides to downshift you have so much throttle applied the thing takes off with unassuming torque steer. If you drive it in comfort, "intelligent" LOL or eco its all virtually identical trash with different gauge layouts. Sport is so "sporty" it destroys fuel economy however it's the only mode I can stand in slower day to day commuting. We had the dealer reflash the transmission and it has not helped.
The stereo and all infotainment system is glitchy, locks up and freezes quite frequently and the updates are excessively long. Apple carplay is very bad with feezing up. Sometimes when we power the vehicle on the infotainment screen will never even power on. It will remain black and do nothing. We have to turn the car off, wait a minute then restart it. Then it's as if there waas never a problem.
When you start the car the smell that the HVAC system expells is a very offensive chemical / poop scent that goes away after roughly 3 minutes.
This is a very loud interior to travel in. Road noise is pretty noisy. Not too much sound deading in there.
PROS!
The adaptive cruise is an excellent very mindful safe setup. I do not recommend changing lanes with it on If you're driving a bit below your cruise setting. It will drop some gears and take off to get to speed almost taking out the vehicle you're trying to go around.
Overall vehicle comfort and ride quality is pretty decent and excellent for road trips especially if it's highway. The palisade gets pretty solid fuel mileage especially for its class.
