2024 Palisade Review

The Palisade has a lot of nice features. However I have two issues with this car that i have asked to be addressed at the service department only to be told nothing is wrong with the car. Issue one concerns the brakes making a popping sound when the brakes are released. I had 7 year old Tahoe that I traded for this car that didn't make this sound at 7 years old. Same for my 5 year old Mercedes Benz, no popping brakes! Not very impressive for an over $50K vehicle. Option 2 concerns the engine and/or transmission not shifting when the car has slowed down for a turn and then needs increase speed after the turn has been complete, the car does not automatically adjusts the gear it needs to increase speed unless i manually have to force the car to change gears by significantly increasing the pressure applied to the accelerator to force the car to change gears. Disappointed that dealership doesn't want to work with me to solve these problems. Given these two items, I don't plan to buy a Hyundai in the future.

Great with Glitches

It's s wonderful cat but every now and then... something sticks or glitches. Turn signal stays on... radio stays on after turning it off... overhead camera stats on after car put in park... side camera stays on after turn signal turns off.

Good but not great

The overall vehicle is nice however there are control options missing on comparable vehicles and some controls are not intuitive, lacking in simplistic instructions in the user manual. The user manual is very disjointed and various items are not described or named in an American English manner. One example is the ability to change the default setting for the engine quitting at stops. There is a switch to turn the feature off but it is not remembered from drive to drive (resets each time you turn it off).

Fine car but has its flaws

Overall drives fine but some parts do feel cheep. The finish on the door handles is wearing off in less then two years. Also the ABS system is an issue that they refuse to recognize. If stopping on a rough street or rocky street, the ABS kicks in but it doesn't stop the car. I have almost rear ended multiple people because of it. Comfort is fine, nothing special.

Very Nice Vehicle

I have mostly positive comments about the Palisade. Comfortable, roomy, reasonable fuel economy and so far, trouble free. Vehicle technology on par with other brands and no issues. Learning curve was a little steep but not difficult to use the systems. Only have a couple of issues. At this model level, it should have wireless Android Auto/Car Play. Lesser models have the feature in 2024. Some rattles and win/road noise from the cargo area.

I’ve owned my 2024 Hyundai Palisade for about a year now, and overall it’s been a comfortable and capable SUV. The ride quality is smooth, the cabin is quiet, and the tech features are easy to use. It feels refined and roomy — perfect for family trips or long drives. However, one issue has been disappointing: the seat handles rub against the leather, which is starting to cause visible wear. For a newer vehicle in this price range, I expected better attention to detail in the interior design and materials. It’s frustrating to see premature wear on a part of the cabin that should hold up well over time. Aside from that, the Palisade has been reliable and delivers good performance for daily driving. I still enjoy the look and comfort of the vehicle, but I wish Hyundai had tested the seat design more carefully to prevent this kind of rubbing issue.

It was nice while it lasted.

We bought a 2024 Palisade Calligraphy, and we really liked the car, but unfortunately about a month ago, a woman drove into the side of our car (she was found at fault without question), and she totaled the Palisade. We had hoped to get another one, a 2025, but the only one we could find that we liked was exactly the same except for a different color, black, which we were fine with. There were many incentives and we were ready to purchase it that day, but it was placed on hold for a recall, and they were not allowed to sell it to us. So now we are stuck driving our old car with over 155K miles on it. The only problems we noticed with the Palisade was problems sometimes getting the door locks to work properly when you grab the handle, garage door opener only working when the car was running, and a seat buckle, otherwise we loved the car.

A Surprising Favorite - Beautiful Design with a Few Misses

I’ve been genuinely surprised by how much I love my Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. From the moment I got in, the light-colored interior made the entire cabin feel airy, open, and upscale. The overall driving experience is smooth, and the tech features make every drive easier and more enjoyable. I love that I can use the app to find, lock, and unlock my car, it’s something I use all the time. The comfort features really stand out. The massage seat, large touchscreen, and thoughtful interior design make it feel more luxurious than I expected. I also appreciate that it takes regular gas, which makes fill-ups more affordable. That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. The lack of wireless CarPlay is frustrating, and the under-console storage and center console compartment, while useful, could be more efficiently designed. I’ve also noticed that the materials seem to scratch and chip more easily than I’d like, which is disappointing since I’m very careful with my car. The cargo space is my biggest challenge. With the third row up, the trunk is very small, my daughter’s French horn doesn’t even fit. It would also be great if the back glass opened separately and if the mirrors folded in automatically when locked. Overall, I really love this car and plan to get another Palisade in the future, likely the hybrid version with some of these improvements.
